Check your tire pressure. also you may have injectors dumping to much fuel in the cylinders.

Poor gas milage?

Thinking you are getting poor gas milage,Your engine is running smooth,no misses,Engine runs smooth while accelerating up a hill, Still poor gas milage, Check your tire pressure. I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer 4x4, 4.3 Ltr. Auto, loaded. I have just over 154000 miles on it,I change my fluids every 5000 miles. Summer driving milage got real bad. I drive a Blazer hard. I tow a 16ft trailor usally loaded to the top with wood. Tires get hot in the summer, while in the winter, they stay mostly cool. Always check your air pressure. Most vehicals are equipted with radials now days, So if you think a tire looks low, check it, Usally they low. Usally in the winter months, nobody checks tire pressure. It really does make a difference. I went from 17.2 MPG to 19.5 MPG, while pulling the same trailor loaded with wood. I cut my own wood then stack it in my trailor to sell. I have Good Year Wranglers size: P235/75R/15 I just replace these with new ones. The old ones are going on my trailor. Counted milage on tires are 65000 Miles. Tires were rated at 40000 miles, Under normal use.

New oil change, new plugs, gas milage is down to 26 mpg, was 31mpg

Are you sure they used the correct oil? If they put a thicker viscosity oil in it then that would explain some of your loss of gas milage. Did they change the air filter. A clogged air filter will also take extra gas.

13 mpg highway. 2003 2500 4x4 5.7 litre 94000 miles on it. is there some things i can do to help milage?

Unfortunatly there is not much room for improvement on these trucks. A tonnou cover helps, proper tire inflation helps as well. You can get a hi flow air filter like the K&N these help some. You can get a little better milage with the higher Octane gasolines but you have to pay more for the gas which is kind of a wash on this. 12-13MPH is about what I get regularly on my 06 2500 6.0ltr, 14-15 if the wind is pushing and I keep out of the gas. What gears are you using in the rear end. A gear change to 3.73 will improve milage but less power and the gear change is an expensive repair.

Tune Time.
1)new spark plugs properly gapped.
2)new air filter (check every 35000 miles)
3)new fuel filter (every 35000 miles)
4)1 bottle of STP fuel treatment (red bottle) 4x a year.
5) oil and filter change (castrol or another good quality oil every 3-4000 miles.
6)proper air pressure in tires (check every 2 months
7) service transmission every 40000 miles or less.

New oil and filter
8) new plug wires every 80000 miles.

Sudden drop in gas milage from 2o to 13mpg

old car, when rings begin to wear oil leaks into the combustion chamber burning more oil and reducing mpg try a product called restore and use it at every oil change also make sure you dont have black oil and that you are changing the oil at regular itervels also plugs wires roter cap and fuel filter and air filter are changed any abuse to these areas will reduce engine life i change my 350000 mile car every 500 miles reusing my filter everyother time

2007 kia rondo seems to use alot of gas

I have the same issue of low gas mileage. My 2008 Kia Rondo with V6 (2.7Lt) gets 20-21 mpg in average. Even for highway mileage, it is around 21-22mpg. Very poor gas mileage. Disappointed. I hope it would improve in the future.

change your spark plugs if they haven't been changed in awhile. check your tires for the propper psi there should be a sticker on the inside of your drivers door that will tell you recomended air pressures go by this not the recomendations on the tires. also where are you getting you gas does it contain ethanol sometimes this can burn faster.
