This is the check engine light. Hopefully, your gas cap is loose or missing. This link might help. If not you can google "check engine light troubleshooting. Hope you find it.

One more thing....if you decide to get a diagnostic check...Ask them to see the code on the handheld while it is on your car. You can check the code if you don't have a trusted mechanic. It might be something inexpensive....but they tell you it's something expensive!!! If you can spend a little more, take it to the dealer..... or get mechanic refs from friends.

It means you need to read your owners manual

Also that you have a Vehicle System Malfunction,
that needs attention within a couple of days, of ANY
Light or Symbol on your dash

The check light may be one problem &
the vsc is drivetrain or you may just have one,
need to get the codes before you can start to
figure it out

Maintenance reqd indication light is still showing on the dashboard after have changed the oil filter and oil. What is the problem? My car is 2008 Toyota Avalon.

Set the display window to ODO.
Turn the ignition switch off.
While pressing the reset switch, turn the ignition switch on(IG). Keep pressing the reset switch for at least 5 seconds to complete reset procedure.

*IF this does not work you have be confused with the warning light, it may not be the oil life, but check engine light, refer to owners manual for clarity.

I have a 2007 Toyota Avalon, 112,000. The check engine light and VSC light came on yesterday. No trouble starting it, no trouble driving and not running rough or skipping. The auto parts store plugged it...

I have the same issue with my 2007 Avalon XLS, 50,900 miles, but mine is ignition coil B. Had mine reset, as well and I came back on, along with the vsc and traction control light...I was told all three lights come on when the engine light pops on...ridiculous really!! I hope this **** is covered in my warranty as I have complete coverage...funny thing is I purchased the car looking for stability, had a 2000 dodge intrepid for ten years until she conked out on me a week before Christmas 2010! Now the 07' Avalon is acting up and I haven't had it for 6 months! Can anyone give us any explanation what these coil failures mean, and why my car feels like it's bucking when I'm driving it?? Thanks!!

"MAINT REQD "means?

oil change the owners manual has the directions for resetting it your self
Turning off the Maint Reqd lightSee page 153 of the owners manual. Turn the engine off with the odometer reading showing (not either of the trip indicators). "Turn the ignition switch is set ON while holding down the trip meter reset knob". Some language, eh? "Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates 000000 and the light will go off. AnswerIf you go to the oil change section of the owner's manual it will tell you exactly how to. If you get your oil change at a professional place be sure to ask them to turn it off or take it back and ask them to turn it off. Good Luck!

How do you change the odometer display to the total actual mileage driven in a 2007 Toyota Avalon?

You can't at least not legally.

The TRIP odometer however may be accessed through it's own set of instructions if it has that feature saved in it's memory.

Check your owner's manual it should be in there.

I rest my tire pressure indicator on my 2007 Avalon but the warning light does not go out, what can I do to correct this?

a lot of cars you have to drive about 50 miles for it to see the air pressure problems as fixed, also check the air pressure on your spare tire, sounds silly but on our rav 4 the spare is also connected somehow to the pressure check. it is stated in our owners manual as well. hope this helps
