Hi Tammie, Is the coolant level low ? If not , The engine coolant level switch grounds the indicator with the coolant level in the coolant reservoir below the minimum recommended level. What place is the bank 1 censor 3 on a s10 98 located

  • Bank 1 is referring to the side of the motor with cylinder 1, usually the driver side. And it would be the 3rd sensor back. Its probably not dual exhaust so its just referring to the rear o2 sensor located after the catylitic converter. Hope this helps.

Check bottle coolant level, if this is OK, then you muts to replace the "coolant level sensor".

I hope this helps; also, your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Hi my 98 grand am just got a oil change like 2 days ago and the check engine light is on still and a,light that looks like a rectangle with a arrow and water level

the check engine light doesn`t necessarily mean it needs an oil change.you may and probably have a code in the ecm(computer) that needs to be looked into.the light with the arrow sounds like the coolant level sensor in the rad, check the coolant level.some of these sensor act up at times for no reason then they have a problem within itself.

Coolant temperature sensor is located (or should be) near front of the engine, below valve cover, mounted in water/coolant outlet.

Coolant censor bad

Yes, there is another one. The one you replaced is the coolant level sensor. The ECT (ENGINE COOLANT TEMP) sensor is located near the thermostat housing. It has a 2 pin plug on it.
