How to change rear brake pads on a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 4x4

No offense Bill BUT because of the safety factor brake jobs are best left to your trusted ASE Certified Mechanic if you have any doubts just ask your insurance carrier, local law enforcement & the parts store manager if any of them would consider that a DIY project

My rear brakes are getting way too hot on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. What could be causing this? I just replaced the brake pads and rotors. The back brakes seem to be seizing up and I can't figure out why.

This year of truck did have issues with rear disc brakes. Quality of pads is extremely critical. Go with the AC Delco pads and rotors to eleviate some of the issue. Make sure that the slide pins are liberally lubricated and move freely or drag will cause excessive heat to occur. Let me know if you need anything else.

2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax 4wd p0700 code came up after changing rotors and pads on front

You may have disconnected / or moved a broken wire to the ABS wheel sensor during the brake job. Also taking the brake fluid cap off and checking the fluid level, and just reseating the cap may turn off the code. Check these things first, check the wires to the wheel sensors check the fluid in the reservoir, reservoir top fit, and any wires / plugs at the brake ABS master cylinder. If all else fails have some one read the code.

Rear brake job

pull the two bolts holding the caliper on and pull the caliper off now get a C clamp and compress the piston all the way into the caliper now remove the two bolts in the caliper hanger and remove the hanger now the caliper should just pull off ( if corroted hit it with a hammer ) now just put every thing back to gether the way they came off...............WHEN DONE WITH THE BRAKE JOB MAKE SURE TO START THE TRUCK AND PUMP THE BRAKES UNTIL THE PEADLE IS HARD. YOUR PEADLE WILL GO RUTE TO THE FLOOR AT LEAST ONE TIME MAYBE MORE.

Replaced rear rotors and pads on 1999 4wd silverado, they now get burning hot , greased pins ok, whats wrong ??

make sure the pads move very freely inside the caliper bridge rust can build up and bind pads causing excess friction. never hurts to double check the parts purchased are the correct application.
