Yes you will need to remove the upper plenum to get at it. It is fairly straight forward and will require a basic set of tools (mostly a 10mm socket short and deep, a couple extensions, a swivel, and a ratchet). It should take you about an hour to remove the plenum to gain access to the CPI (central port injection) unit.
