Check the ignition module in the distributor. It controls the spark as well as turning on the fuel pump.

Replaced the fuel pump about 8 months ago and it decided to die on me while i was driving on a major highway this morning. its only 8 months old. i need info about the fuse, relay and wire harness?

There is a relay and fuse, but the alternator is what normally keeps the fuel pump powered, so that it will shut off if the engine stops in an accident. I would start by simply checking voltage at the pump. You should get a few seconds of power to the pump every time the key turned on. It should not stay on if the engine does not start.
It might not be a bad idea to put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail. But you can hear the pump through the tank filler.
The relay is top row, 4th from left.

Fuel system problem 1996 nissan altima

Thats a good one. thank you for all the detail. if your exhaust was plugged you would notice a great loss in power .but having to ground your fuel pump your selves to get it to work sounds like you having issues with your wiring. , double check your fuel pump relays and fuses, and the connection at the pump. I have had a few problems with aftermarket pumps in my Grandpas truck. Ive had one fail after just one day of use. and had to replace it.

My Jimmy is having a hard time starting, sometimes it dosen't.

Sounds like your problem might be with the VATS anti theft system. Does your truck have the chip in the key? If so you might just need the ignition lock cylinder changed out. There are 2 very small wires that run from the lock cylinder down the column and plug in under the dash. After time the wires insulation will get brittle and crack. The wires read the resistance of the diode chip that is in the key and send the signal to the VATS computer witch tells the ECM weather to send the signal to the fuel pump or not. On a cold moist morning the resistance signal can be interrupted or the resistance lever raised enough for the computer to get an improper signal. Your vehicle is thinking that an improper key is being used to try and start the vehicle. A replacement lock cylinder can be purchased for around $80 at your local part store and you will need to take your current key and the new cylinder to a lock smith to have the pins in the new cylinder changed to fit your current key. This way all of your current keys will still work the vehicle instead of having to pay $40 for each new key. Anyway, after you have the new cylinder working with you old key simply take it in to have it changed out, shouldn't take any competent mechanic with the right tools more than an hour to change out.

Hi, I bought not long ago a 1997 Town & Country Lxi, everything was fine for about 2 weeks, but then one morning I could not start it, I mean everything was working fine, the dashboard, lights, even...

Was the fuel filter replaced when the fuel pump was installed? A clogged fuel filter may have been what took out pump#1, and it can quickly send pump #2 to the happy hunting ground also.

I have a 2000 chevy cavalier not starting, had fuel pump changed 3 weeks ago and worked fine until this morning at that time i also changed spark plug wires and plugs and today changed the ingnition coils

i will try to help. with the key in the on position, do you hear the fuel pump humming? that is a must!! you may have to turn the key on and of for 15 second intervals to hear it for sure. if the fuel pump is humming, that means it's at least pumping. you'll need to narrow your search to this, is it getting fuel? or is it getting fire? that will narrow the search field. if it's getting fuel, but no fire, have you checked the crankshaft sensor? have you also checked all the fuses in the black box under the hood?when you changed the coils did you get everything plugged back in correctly? jusy trying to cover some bases with you. hope this helps!! thank you for choosing

Sounds like you are having a PCM problem. The keep alive memory is internally located in the PCM. With all the other problems you are having, this is the most likely cause.

2000 GMC Jimmy will not start

Need to check for fuel pressure and volume. If you turn the key on and you have pressure, then you should be able to start and run. If your fuel pressure gauge has a releif hose on it, then while running, dump fuel into a jug and the engine should stay running. If the vehicle will not start but cranks over, then turn the key off and on a few times. the fuel pump will only stay on for a few seconds and cycle off. Sounds like you are losing your fuel prime from the pump to the engine. Only fix is to replace the fuel pump if you are losing your prime.

check your battery first,  Then measure voltage to the starter solenoid.  No voltage at solenoid the problem is at the key switch.
