Sound like you gas pump is out. Just right after turning the key you should hear the pump relays kick in and hear the pump engage.

I have a 1985 toyota pickup, 2wd, carborated, I cannot find the fuel filter, where is it located?

The stock fuel filter is located just in front of the rear tire on the passenger side of the truck. It may have a cover over it. Make sure your tank is almost empty before removing the old filter otherwise it can get messy with gas all over the place.

My gas gauge needs replacing in a 1985,, ford, f-150. is that located in the gas tank?

Yes, and is a little pricey, because it has the fuel pump attached to it. Do replace both, as both fail often on Fords.

1985 toyota r22 pickup(manual trans.) when i get on freeway and get up to about 45mph, in 3rd gear, the engine starts to bog down and i can not go any faster. it sat for 4 years with gas in tank. I have...

The problem may be the gas that sat in the carburator. Gas goes bad faster in smaller quantities. Have a look inside to see if you have "gummed" up passages, or jets. Don't forget to change the fuel filter.
Good luck. (I have an 89, and it's a great truck, 300k miles on it.)

I have an 85 Ford E350 chassis motorhome that won't switch to the rear gas tank. When the you flip the selector switch at the dash, you can hear a click from the transfer switch on the frame. The rear tank...

You should be able to hear the pump in the tank running. If you don't check the fuel pump relay. If you hear the pump running then the line/filter could be plugged. The white relay is the tank selector relay, the green relay is the fuel pump relay. If the green relay is bad you will have a bad time getting the replacement. The new relays from the dealer and parts stores are all 5 pin. The green relay is a 4 pin.

Also your genset probably has a pump that pulls from that tank on its own.

1985 toyota pick up fuel pump replacement

good way to tell if its your fuel is to open your gas tank lid and have some turn the key to "on" and listing for a click. if it clicks its good, if it doesnt its bad, if its bad check on your frame of the truck from where the gas tank is up to your firewall, if not there the fuel pump could be internal, which means you would have to drop your gas tank to replace the pump.
