Question about 2002 Ford Windstar Cargo
We need to know how to tighten the serpentine belt, like, now. Help!
If the belt is loose you might have the wrong belt installed on, or the serpentine belt tensioner must to be replaced, they adjust automatic, with spring loaded belt tensioner

If the tensioner will not keep the belt tight then the tensioner is bad and will need to be replaced. The spring on the inside will loose it's tension over time.

SOURCE: sounds like a loose belt.
Most surpentine belts have an atomatic tensoner. I have had 2 fail on different cars and it is a simple fix, both of them required removal of one bolt.

You can not tighten the belt, it is held on by the Belt tensioner...it's located a little to the left side of the waterpump...now it maybe getting weak, or your belt may need to be replaced...Sometimes they look good, with no cracks, but they get worn and streched out over time..or it may look shiny..either one of those will cause it too squeak..
