Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Open Question

I am installing a 2001 4.3 vortec motor in my 1999 s10 blazer and the knock sensor has smaller threads on the 2001 motor and the threads on the 1999 motor are bigger. What should I do,or can this be fixed?

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4. Replacing rear pad's,& Bleeding Breaks

have one person in the blazer pumping the brake pedal and then hold to the floor, crack the bleeder then tighten, release pedal, repeat till all air is out one side at a time, if this does not work then your ABS unit is bad witch if u follow your lines from your master cylinder u will find a black box with a motor on it, or the master cylinder itself is bad, it also can cause u to have no pedal, replace the master cylinder first, most likely cheaper.

SOURCE: upgrade 4.3 l carb engine to vortec TFI fuel system

It can be done but it is very time consuming.
I use an 87 Astro van intake sensors and computer on my 86 OMC.
After six years I am still playing with it.
Runs good and easy on gas.
Got lots of info from DIY-EFI.
You HAVE to change programing in the computer.
I am running a closed loop system with one oxygen sensor in the starboard manifold.
Your 94 computer is not as good for a boat because it also controls the transmission.

Just to give you an idea what your in for.

SOURCE: S10 Blazer 1999 the computer reads problem is Bank 1

blank 1 is the connection plugand is on the left side of the motor (purple + black-) and senor 3 is for the o2 sensor which you should have 3 senors on our exhust and the 3rd one is the one on the down pipe (your O2 sensor) replace that that should clear the problem

codes P0131-P0141 all have to due with our O2 sensor

hopefully that helps

I had a 2000 gmc jimmy w/V6 vorvex and m O2 sensor went out 2

How to replace PCV valve on 1999 S10 blazer

If the engine in question is the 4.3l Vortec motor, the pcv valve is located on the driver's side valve cover, near the center. If it is the 2.2l motor, it is also located on the main valve cover, near the front of the cylinder head.

89-98 chevy blazer

It's not worth doing all that conversion, buy the time you spend the time and money to convert the 89 4.3 to work on the 98 blazer, it would be cheaper to install a 98 vortec rebuild. The 89 4.3 have a TBI fuel injection system and the ecm on the 98 will not work and the bad news is that the ecm on the 98 also controls the transmission shift points and the 89 will not, so even if you swap the ecm to have the 89 4.3 engine work. the transmission will not shift. Sorry for the bad news but it would be cheaper to replace the 98 engine with the years of 1996 to 2001. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have a 95 chevy blazer with the 4.3 vortec. It has a knock sensor and temp sensor on the right side of the engine and I cant remember which one goes in the top hole and which one goes in the bottom hole....

The knock sensor will go to the lower hole, make sure you follow tightening instructions or it will no function correctly. Put a liquid sealant on threads, don't use tape.
