My heat will only come on when the cord that gets plugged for the winter is plugged in. Abd when it is on i am unable to control the fan from the inside. I can also see that the wiring for the fan has been...

the cord that gets plugged in for the winter just works the block heater and warms the engine coolant to make winter starting easier. if you can not control blower motor fan speed then you probably have a bad blower resister or blower motor, that will need to be replaced. if the fan has been wired to the block heater wiring(plug)then it has to be disconnected and put back to original. the block heater works on household voltage120 volts) and the blower motor works on 12 volts. the blower motor may be burnt out due to the excess voltage supplied to it. check fuses as it may have burnt a fuse. depending on the damage caused you may have to take it to a repair shop to have things fixed properly.

How do I change the engine radiator fan motors on my 2001 Buick Century?

  • Remove the passenger side kick panel using a Phillips head screwdriver. Pull the rug back from under the blower motor to allow enough room to drop the blower motor without the rug interfering.

  • 2

Disconnect the electrical plug from the blower motor. Pull the rubber vent hose out of the blower motor.

  • 3

Remove all the Phillips head screws securing the blower motor to the housing. Drop the blower motor straight down.

  • 4

Install the new motor in reverse order of removal

1990 Mercedes 300E.How to Reaplase Blower Motor?

This is a 124 chassis model. The blower motor is under the cowling just in front of the windshield. You will need to remove the plastic pieces in front of the windshield and the wiper transmission. It will have squirrel cage fans at each end.If you are not experienced with removing these fans, use extreme care, because plastic gets brittle with heat and age.You can use a hairdryer to warm to plastic hub for easier removal. When tapping the motor shaft free of the cage, keep it evenly supported.Make sure not to drive the cages onto the new motor shaft too far. They will contact the housing.Replace broken fans-they vibrate badly.Blower motors with new fans installed are readily available for extra bucks.

1993 Dodge Intrepid, heater blower motor sounds like it is hitting on something, lost individual speeds, now doesn't work at all. Easiest way to get to blower motor and repair. Also started smelling...

What it sounds like is that the fan blades off of the blower cage have broken off and that would explain the sounds you are hearing. The really bad news is that it also sounds like one of them has penetrated the heater core and caused a leak and that is why you are smelling antifreeze. Of the two the blower motor is the easier to replace, but the good thing is that they are next to one another, so when you are replacing one the other is right there. One thing that you can try as a quick fix for the heater core is to get some aluminum radiator/heater core sealer. There are several good ones on the market, K&W makes a really good one and it is a whole lot cheaper than replacing the heater core. But since you are goning to be fixing the fan blower motor, you might want to splurge and just get a heater core as well. I hope that you have found this information useful as that is my goal.

Location of blower motor on 97 Cherokee classic

the blower motor is on passengers side behind glove box. you can take it out from under glove box dash. to make the job easier, you may have to remove some fuses or relays because the blower motor will not come out with fuse box in the way. remove wiring connector to fan. then take out 3 or 4 screws that hold it in, then wiggle it straight out. if replacing, use old fan cage to put on new fan motor shaft. have a good holiday !

I have an issue with the fan sometimes it works an sometimes it will stay off till you hit a bump. how hard is it to replace the fan motor

It is probably easier than you think. Is like five screws and two wires its located on passanger side at feet, a new one comes with a new blade, when you look at the replacement you can tell which screws and wires to remove.

Heating fan works part of the time

It is two main things, the blower motor and the blower motor resistor. It should be under the passenger side dash. If you take out the glove box you can get to it easier.
It sounds like the blower motor though. When the Resistor goes out usually the lower speeds go out first and only the high works

19991 civic hatchback. Getting hot air but no

There is a blower motor under the dash, behind glovebox. Loosen 3 retaining screws holding motor housing, drop motor housing and blower motor unit. Replace blower unit. The problem involves the blower resistor. This piece must be replaced but might be easier to replace the entire blower motor unit.

The fan motor may need replaced. Over time with low voltage electric motors go bad just as with high voltage. More than likely it has burned out. You can try replacing the contacts in the motor, but I believe it is easier to replace it.
