Hi

It sounds like the ABS pump has failed, or possibly two unrelated faults, could be the ABS sensor causing the light to come on but might be the fuse in the ABS that has gone. Its worth checking these two things first as they are cheaper.

Dan

Why do ABS brakes grab and push air?

hey check ur abs wheel speed sensors. check data when ur moving lf rf and rears should be reading same speed. its probably gonna be a bad wheel bearing cause that where ur speed sensors are built in to. u need a abs scan tool to monitor ur wheel speed parameters in order to pin point ur bad sensor. or pull codes from ur abs module and see what side it says is failing. good luck

1993 Lincoln Town car 3 years ago on a very HOT day my right front brake started violently grabbing, even without touching the brake. The ABS light comes on intermittently, it usually goes off after...

I had a very similar problem in my 93 town car. I ended up changing the Calipers, rotors, and pads. This stopped the grabbing, but still every once and a while the ABS light would come on and grip the brakes on me. I ended up pulling the ABS relay from under the hood.and the problem has stayed away. The only thing is that now i dont ABS brakes. Its a heavy car tho and i havent had an issue yet. Also, if you decide to do this, the relay way mis marked in my car, when i pulled the ABS relay, the Air shocks went out instead. Had to pull one at a time until the anti lock light came on, then i knew i had it.

Abs liht on

What is the question?

ABS is the electrical part of your braking system

Do you not check for codes within a couple of days,
of getting any check light on your dash?

Their not new, they have been on all vehicles for 31 years

If you can't check for codes in a couple of days & diagnose
& repair the vehicle shortly after, stop using it.

check out the abs sensor, it is located on the rear axle of the truck, bolted to the 'pumpkin'-they commonly fail and exhibit all the symptoms you are describing.

Car ran four days, went to start it and 'click', nothing. Went to repair shop who said it needed a new battery, installed. Ran another four days, went to start and 'click', nothing. Repair facility now...

If there is no power from battery to altenator, than the altenator is bad. Even some new ones can do that. Do check all your battery cable wires including ground wires. Make sure they are all clean. also tight.

Air Bag Light, Brake Light, & ABS Light came on in the dashboard.

Check and see if your alternator is charging
Low voltage will cause those lights to come on, as the computer is shutting down.

To check your alternator you will need a volt meter... WITH the engine running you should have about 14 volts coming out. IF NOT you need to replace the Alternator!

ABS brakes, Traction Controll, Rear Air suspension, Wont Start

I recommend that you go to an autozone or a dealer or another mechanic and have the car put on the computer. That should pinpoint the problem for you.

Battery light comes on and stays on

Does it have a brand new alternator and battery? It definetly sounds like an alternator. Look for shorts and check the power cables connections and ground.
Thanks,
