You can order rebuild kits at your local auto parts store. Tell them the model, and engine size. They will also need some details about your carburetor, such as - 4 barrel or 2? Follow the instructions in the kit exactly, and replace all the gaskets/seals, whether they look like they need it or not.

Sounds like, unfortunately, that your reverse gear went out. The only way to get it fixed is to take it to a transmission speciality repair shop to have the gear replaced. Also a very expensive job, could be as much as $1000 to $1500.

I have a 1984 crown vic and the TB loads up like a stuck float in a carb, How do I repair this?


Rebuild the tbi,it has a fuel pressure regulator in it,and it is not controlling the fuel flow.Most all the fuel is being dumped into the tbi.If this was helpful,please rate,and thank you.

check all vacuum hoses.if any looks cracked replace them.make sure carburater bolts are tight.check the egr valve make sure its not leaking.besure have your idle speed adjusted.it should be at 550 to 600 rpms.

i think that you have a shift or stuck or is worn out or you may have a gear that is worn out and needs to be replaced
