Question about 1983 Jeep CJ7
Cj7 304 w. headers. stalls out in the woods and won't start back. rebuilt carb, motorcraft. also diesels when shutting off
The diesel prob is carbon build-up. Replace the sparkplugs, check that the exhaust is not blocked. Check for spark and fuel if it still won't start. A simple way to clean the carbon out is to get the engine up to operating temp, remove the breather and with the engine running at about 1000rpm carefully feed it clean water down the intake. Don't over-do it! A drink bottle works great, but just a bit at a time! You will see quite a lot of dirt come out the exhaust. Put the breather back on and take it for a rip! Frankster016
