Clunking sound sometimes heard when stopping

I have a 2007 T&C. Since I bought it I sometimes hear this clunking sound when I stop. I have taken in several times to no avail. I would like to have this resolved before it is out of warrenty. It almost seems like something is sliding and you hear the clunk when it can move no further. I will take any suggestion that you have to the service department

Hi there!

Yes I agree to sort this out under warranty.

It would be helpful to determine if the clunk was transmission related or happens when braking or parking.- And if it's engine bay or rear noise.

It could be as simple as an unsecured jack rolling about, or other heavy equipment, Play in the seat rails, Seat belt tensioner mechanism, Battery mounting, Radiator mounting, Loose Brake caliper, tight damper, play in damper support, road spring seating, engine/ transmission mounting, noise in wishbone assembly joints.

Hope you resolve this issue soon.
If it turns out to be any of the above, Please rate as Fixya, or "helpful" if it genuinely was.
Thank you.

I would check the spark plugs and wires or coil packs. Sounds like the ignition system is arcing.

Sometimes limited driving can affect the front brake pads and rotors due to corrosion, and dirt...inspect the pads for being worn unevenly...and the rotors for warping...the rotors would also cause the steering wheel to shake when applying the brakes...A small fix for a nice low mileage Ranger:) Hope this helps.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have the bushings checked. They can be worn out that's why during take off you can hear a clunking sound. Do check the brake pads too for if they are worn out you'll notice a metal to metal noise.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Sounds like 1 or more of your ground straps from the engine block to the frame either are disconnected or are loose.. I would check there 1st, especially if the engine has been removed and replaced.
