Engine jumpes fisfires

I would look into the cap, rotor button, and wires, spark plugs basically a tune up it should eliminate that misfire condition unless it is time for the timing chain to be replaced because of stretch in it or has jumped a gear. Check your timing marks first. If all is well proceed to tune up. also make sure your fuel filter is new or recently has been changed if not go here the very first thing starving for fuel will cause a misfire condition as well.

I have a 94 jimmy that keeps loadingup the plugs and jumps timing but the timeing chain is not loose or strechedthe motor is strong but i cant keep it running

If you have a distributor cap with a rotor , it is possible that the gear on the bottom of the distributor is striped. It is driven off a similar gear on the cam shaft.

Was running fine, then the alt belt broke and truck died (1985 gmc jimmy s15) It is getting plenty of fuel, and oil is full, and battery is fully charged, just turns and turns over but wont start!

pull distributor cap off and turn it over make sure button is moving if not then the timing chain broke, if so then maybe timing jumped a few degrees

93 gmc jimmy wont start turns over and theres spark but it wont fire. fuel pump sounds like its priming

spray ether into intake , if it wants to run then you have a fuel problem. if you can rent a timing light, check the timing, it could have jumped, and it will still have spark. also check the plugs for proper gap.

Breaking starter casings

you should maybe have the timing checked some times if they are out of time on the chain they will backfire when turning over causing the engine to turn backward when starter is engaged this will break the nose right off have seen this many times on GM.

You will have to replace the poppet. You can buy them one at a time from GM. You can also buy the whole set up aftermarket now. Good Luck
