Question about 2001 Hyundai Tiburon

Open Question

Just bought a 2001 tiburon and the check engine light comes on. I got the code pulled and it said that the transmission oil sensor is saying the fluid is too hot. What do I need to do?

SOURCE: HYUNDAI TRANSMISSION

1. Drive the vehicle until the fluid temperature reaches normal operating the usual temperature [80-90°C (176-194°F)]. 2. Place the vehicle on a level floor. 3. Move the selector lever sequentially to every position. This will fill the torque converter and hydraulic system with fluid, then place lever in "N" (Neutral) position. 4. Before removing the dipstick, wipe all contaminate from area around the dipstick. Then take out the dipstick and check the condition of the fluid. The transaxle should be overhauled under the following conditions. a. If there is a "burning" odor. b. If the fluid color has become noticeably blacker. c. If there is a noticeably excessive amount of metal particles in the fluid. 5. Check to see if the fluid level is in the "HOT" range on dipstick. If fluid level is low, add automatic transaxle fluid until the level reaches the "HOT" range. Transaxle fluid: GENUINE HYUNDAI ATF SP-II, DIAMOND ATF SP-II or AUTRAN MMSP-II. Low fluid level can cause a variety of abnormal conditions because it allows the pump to take in air along with fluid. Air trapped in the hydraulic system forms bubbles which are compressable. Therefore, pressures will be erratic, causing delayed shifting, slipping clutch and brakes, etc. Improper filling can also raise fluid level too high. When the transaxle has too much fluid, gears churn up foam and cause the same conditions which occur with low fluid level, resulting in accelerated deterioration of automatic transaxle fluid. In either case, air bubbles can cause overheating, and fluid oxidation, which can interfere with normal valve, clutch, and servo operation. Foaming can also result in fluid escaping from the transaxle vent where it may be mistaken for a leak. 6. Be sure to examine the fluid on the dipstick closely.0f3ac6e.gif

SOURCE: 2003 hyundai tiburon check engine light

You're right, the PO154 has to do with the O2 sensor. The code has the info of Oxygen Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 1).
Bank 2 is the exhaust manifold that cylinder #2 uses.
Sensor 1 is the sensor in BETWEEN the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter.
No Activity Detected in the circuit could mean the O2 sensor is dead, or an open/cut wire going to the sensor.
That's about all the info you can get out of that code PO154.

2001 Passat check engine light flashing and car shuts off will not start

The first step is to plug in an OBD-2 scanner to read exactly what the fault code is, that is setting off the check engine light (CEL). If you are in the USA, most auto parts stores like AutoZone, Oreillys, or Advance Auto Parts have these OBD-2 scanners and will check for vehicle fault codes at no cost (free).
Since the problem seems to arise when the check engine light comes on, it is likely the code will show the exact malfunctioning part, or an area to focus on.
Without knowing the exact error/fault code, it's impossible to say what the exact problem is, that's causing the car's shutdown.

Why is my 2001 hyundai tiburon not firing, it has brand new spark plugs & Wires, new ignition coil, what could it be?

a crank sensor will make you not get a signal to trigger the power for the coil so that may be the problem with it. If all else is ok, is the check engine light on to scan it for the crank sensor code.

Engine check light comes on 2001 jackaroo 3.0 diesel why

run fault codes to find out why .The light is the CPU's way of telling you that a sensor has gone outside set parameters and if it is serious the next step will be engine loss of power as it moves into the limp mode. When the light comes on , stop the engine and check oil and coolant levels and then have the codes read asap to prevent any damage to engine and transmission.

My 2000 Tiburons speedometer has quit working. Any Ideas?

The output speed sensor on the transmission is a common problem that should take care of this. If the check engine light is on, try pulling the codes to see if one is for the speed sensor. Replace the sensor and your problem should be fixed. By the way, the part is pretty resonable from the dealer too. :)

2001 a4, oil pressure light alarm.

Your mechanic is yanking your chain. (or you mis-understanding.)

Oil pressure light does not have to be "reset." There may be CODES that need to be reset but they would turn on the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. (I think, on your car, this is picture of engine with a check mark.) If the Check Engine Light (CEL) is flashing, it means you have a serious engine problem and should NOT be driving the car without finding the reason for the light. (Around here, many auto parts store will "pull the codes" for free.)

Oil pressure light could mean you are low on oil, have a bad sensor, wire or even a oil pump. The oil pump is inside the engine.

My '03 Tiburon has problems shifting on its' own

the right direction is to have the fault codes read first
they will reveal a code that refers to TR sensor , VSS sensor or TCM
indicates a problem servo/s or solenoids
If the oil has not been changed in the last 60,000miles then that would be a good option to do after the fault codes reading
