Hi Chris,

The hardest part of replacing airbags, is doing it safely. An unanchored air bag prematurely detonated can do a lot of damage. That includes injuries of a fatal nature.

After over 700 extractions without an accident, I've compiled a short list of things you NEED to know before handling air bag.

Click Here for the tips section concerning airbags. Following the rules in that link does not make them safe, it means they may be handled with higher degree of safety.

Read them. Re-read them.

Then comment back and describe what you want to do. Start with which air bag...

Best regards

Mike

Air bag pump is running, new airbags . rear bags wont air up.

These Lincoln air suspensions are terrible. I have converted many over to coil springs at a fraction of the cost of replacing/repairing the bags. If the rear bags don't inflate, there is a broken air line to the bags or the bags are leaking

How do I take out the air bag and replace it with another one for my 1992 mercury sable?

You don't. .take it to a reputable garage and let them repair it.if you just install a new air bag without replacing crash sensors, clockspring, air bag module and safing sensor, you may deploy the new air bag, possiably causing major bodily harm. ..stay away from it!!! A static shock from you connecting it could set of air bag..

MY REAR AIR BAGS AND SHOCKS ARE DONE FOR ON MY 1988 LINCOLN MARK 7 IF I REPLACE JUST THE SHOCKS HELP ME OUT FOR A WEEK TILL I CAN BUY THE AIR BAGS PLEASE HELP P.S. AIR BAGS ARE TORN IN REAR ONLY?

Replace all your Air Bag Suspension with conventional
non air ride parts.

Too expensive to maintain air suspension on an older
vehicle.

There are several companies that offer those products

You can't use a car with deflated air bags, have to be
replaced

There are no ways to turn off the air bag light except you replace the faulty air bag.

Back shocks on 97 TC are shot. Air system seems ok, but is it possible to just replace the shocks, or to replace them with spring assisted shocks?

The make a kit to replace the air bags, but it is real easy to replace the air bags and if you go on e0bay you can find both the kits and bags.

If you decide to replace the air bags all you have to do is remove the bottom shock bolt, raise up the body and remove a pin at the top of the air bag. it will drop right out. (be sure to turn off the switch in the trunk before starting. Some times you can replace just one. with the system on, reach under and feel the bags. IF it is hard it is OK, if it is soft that is the one you have to replace,

You are better off with the air bags working correctly.

Hope this helps.

2001 corolla air bag replacement ,

If you are replacing the air bags, you should replace the front left and right crash sensors, the spiral cable under the steering wheel, AND the center air bag sensor, which is in front of the console. If your car has seat-belt pretensioners and force limiters, you may have to replace them also. You will know this if the seat belts are "locked up". If you do not replace all of the parts, you may get a air-bag code, and the air bags may not deploy next time.
