SOURCE: Door panels

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

SOURCE: wheres the starter solenoid on 2002 cadillac

the solenoid is on the starter motor.it could be just bad contacts in the solenoid and the extra amp supply by boosting the car will make the solenoid work.make sure all the connections at the battery and the starter is good.if they are good then change the starter with the solenoid.the starter should be on the side of the motor by the rad where the motor bolts to the transmission.

I have a 2004 sea doo with a starting problem. It will turn over 3 or 4 times and then just click. I have a new battery and have cleaned all terminals within reach.

Perhaps.

I suggest you test the theory by bypassing the relay and/or energising the starter motor manually using a jumper lead, a suitable screwdriver or similar or a remote starter switch.

Won't start, clicks instead, key won't come out.

It sounds like your alternator may be bad and is not charging the battery. You can get it tested at Auto Zone.

Turn on the headlights and turn the key to start if the headlights go out the battery is dead and needs to be repaired if they do not go out then you may have a starter that is locked up or a bad solenoid on the starter.

2001 cadillac deville dts..wont start

Check your fuse box for broken fuses. Otherwise, disconnect your negative battery terminal for maybe thirty minutes, reconnect and see if warning lights stay on. It could also be a pre-set maintenance reminder to force consumers to get dealer service which would be 'reset' by disconnecting a relay.

This is gwen again no the car dont turn over but i hear a clicking on the right side at a fuse box all the lights come on the dash but does nothing

This clicking is due to one of several possible parts. The Starter relay will click if the Battery is low or has a dirty connection. The Starter relay will click if the relay has burned components inside and is the weak link between the Battery and the Starter.

A bad or Grounded-out Starter will ruin a Starter relay by melting its' contact points and then the Starter relay will make the noise you describe.

A smaller Relay in the fuse panel (Ignition Relay) may be keeping the small wires to your Starter Relay from working.

Start out by cleaning the Battery cables for the battery. If not fixed, have someone bypass the Starter Relay after you disconnect the small wires going to that Relay. When bypassed the Starter should turn and if the Key is turned on the RUN position, the engine should start. Be careful to have a stick-shift in Neutral or an Automatic in Park.

If the Starter does not turn when the Starter relay is bypassed, then the starter is bad. If the Battery is bad, then the Starter will not turn either. Check the Battery before condemning the Starter.

2006 wont start just so I replaced the battery and it still wont start just clicks once any ideas

You can test the starter by bypassing the Starter Relay and using a jumper cable to go from one side of the relay to the other. It will spark, it will get hot enough to melt. But if the Starter is good the engine will crank and spin.

If the Starter does not crank with a direct bypass of the Relay, the starter is bad. If the engine does crank, the Relay you bypassed is bad and needs to be replaced.

One thing to check on the new Battery is the Voltage. The above information will not work on some Fords. A fully charged Battery has between13.2 and 13.4 Volts. The Antitheft system of some Ford products will prevent a start and in some cases reduce Crank Voltage to 6 Volts. I have also seen where a jump started Ford will cut out the Charging circuit after a few minutes of running to stall a potentially stolen vehicle. Battery voltage is therefore critical to a successful repair.

Now a Starter Relay is inexpensive and you can forego testing if you wish. But if you still hear clicks after replacing the Relay, either the Starter is bad or the Battery is not fully charged. Test the Starter as I instructed and go from there.

Well if your battery is ok than you more than likely need a starter.

check for power at the starter and starter solenoid while someone holds the key to crank if it has enough voltage the starter is bad but make sure all connections for the battery and starter are good before replacing starter
