Question about 2001 Chrysler Sebring

3 Answers

The AC/Heater only works on the highest setting #4 .. I checked the blower motor fuse and it is fine, I need to know what I will have to replace because I have only one fan speed to use and want to fix it before it completely goes out. Is this a switch issue?? I only ask because I do not believe it is the blower motor as I have had that checked. If it is the switch, I need to know where the placement of this switch is. Thanks

It's usually the resistor, but the switch may be bad too. Please see my tip athttp://www.fixya.com/cars/r6234839-doesn... . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Not the switch, most likely to be the blower motor resistor. It is normally located under the dash on the passenger side. If you find the wires that go to the blower motor and follow them back it should take you right to it should be just a few inches away from the blower motor.

This sounds like a classic blower motor resistor failure. see this link for nice directions on replacement.

That is your resistor for the blower fan....Its shot. Located usually under the hood on passengers side bolted or screwed into the firewall....Sometimes you have to remove the plastic between the windsheld and hood to get to it.

We have a 2006 Jeep Liberty. Our heater/ac would only work on 4 (highest setting) for the longest time. Now it only will work when it seemingly wants to.Replaced blower motor resistor with no change

Sounds like the blower motor speed control switch may be defective or you have burned wiring or connectors, pull the blower switch out of the dash and examine it for signs of overheating and a burnt smell, check the connector at the blower motor as well for same things, repair as needed, also I would replace the blower motor as well.

My bmw 318 is blower fan not working

Blown Fuse
  • Usually the first thing to inspect when the blower fan stops working is the fuses to see if any are blown. Locate the 10A cluster fuse or the 25A HVAC fuse in your car manual, and examine them to determine if they need replacing. The car owner's manual will tell you where to find the fuses that are connected to the heat and/or air conditioning. On the interior fuse panel of the car, a 30 amp fuse is labeled "Heater" or "HVAC."

Bad Blower MotorIf the fan only works on setting number 3 or 4, or just on the highest setting, it is most likely that your blower motor is failing and is about to die. Use a voltmeter to test the amount of voltage at the blower motor connector with your ignition on and AC running. If it reads 12V, the motor needs replacing.Automatic Climate Control SystemAnother thing that causes the blower fan to malfunction is the Automatic Climate Control System (ACCS). If the ACCS's settings are off, it may cause the fan to stop working. If it is the climate control on the car, typically it is a bad thermostat or electrical circuit that is the culprit.
hope this helps, James Booth

if the lower fan speeds dont work but the fastest speed does the heater fan resistor block needs replacing. If the highest fan speed doesnt work leave it on there and check for power at heater blower fan, if power is on one wire and the other is an earth the blower motor fan needs replacing. Use a normal globe test light to check this. If no power on any wires to fan go back and check all fuses in car and under bonnet with same test light. If fuses are ok possible open circuit wire to fan.

My heat has stop blowing. replaced blower, and heater on off switch. what else could it be?

LX? DX? EX? Hatchback? sedan? wagon?coupe? engine size? did you check the fuse? Fuse #19, 30 amps in the auxilary fuse box (your owners manual may show the location ,it may be near the blower ?). The Blue/White wire at the heater blower motor should be HOT (12v) with key on. If you ground the Blue/Black wire the motor should run full speed.

Ford fusion 2007, blown blower fuse, replaced fuse, works at highest speed only (highest of 4) the other three setings don't work.

hte blower resistor is shot, near the blower motor, have the blower motor checked my guess is that it requiring too much power to run, hence the blown fuse

The fan for the heater/AC only works on the highest setting (4). Could this be a fuse?

The blower for the ac/heat only works on the highest setting. The 1,2,&3 settings don't work.

Sounds like the blower motor resister is bad, it regulates the speeds of the blower motor, it should be located somewear around the blower motor, 2 screws hold it in the heater box and it has a electrical plug to it.

Subject: 2004 isuzu rodeo...my ac/heater blower is not working

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.
