Take the air intake off the engine and take the idle air control valve off as shown below. Clean out the passages and the throttle bore as well. Put the connector on the valve while it's out of the throttle body and have someone turn the key on while you watch to make sure the valve is working--it should hunt when the key is initially turned on. If not, replace the valve. Note: this test may set your engine light. If you have any questions, please let me know.

1992 Vulcan runs great at higher RPM but dies without power at lower RPM?

Not sure what a Vulcan is, but if it has an ignition module these have high rpm and low rpm sections. You low rpm section may have failed. Parts stores can test these if you take the module out and take to them.

When my car warms up it will not stay started it will die unless i keep my foot on the gas petal to prevent it from dying

Change the sir-filter and fuel-filter. Also clean out the air-filter box the filter sits in. If the problem persists, remove the air-intake duct that goes to the throttle body for obstructions. Also look at the air-horn and throttle-plate. Is there carbon in the air-horn and throttle-plate? If so, carefully clean the airhorn and throttle-plate with a clean, dust-free rag sprayed with automotive solvent.

If you still have the pronlem, you might consider the engine temperature-senser.

CAR RUNS GREAT, STARTED DIEING WHEN A/C WAS TURNED ON, NOW A FEW DAYS LATER IT DIES EVEN WITHOUT A/C ON, RUNS BUT WILL NOT IDLE

CHECK IDLE SPEED SHOULD BE 650 - 850 RPM. IF IDLE TOO LOW AC WILL PUT DRAG SLOW DOWN ENGINE CAUSING ENGINE TO STALL IF IDLE SPEED IS TOO LOW.

At low rpm engine dies

Normally this is due to a defective Mass Air Flow Sensor. Install a known good sensor and test drive to see if it repairs the concern. There are no test to check an Mass Air Flow Sensor. Bad ones will check good.

Won't start, engine wont rev above 2000rpm

Have the alternator tested. You are providing a low charge to the battery when you jump it and when taking it above 2K RPM requires more amperage resulting in the engine dying and the rough idle

sounds like the belt is loose. if it has a tensioner check and or replace it, if not tighten the belt. or the alternator tests ok but is actually not working at low rpm. or the battery is shorted. electricity is tricky
