Just wire to the switch ,that comes with them
Follow the instructions ,and use the relay

If you wire the Hi Beams, to the Relay coil, of the driving lights, the State won't inspect your vehicle

When dimmer switch is turned to high, the two high beam only light up, the low / high main lamp goes off.

It is normal that when you select high beam that the two high beam lights come on and the low beams switch off. the light position should show high beam
It goes off on low beam when the high beam lights go off and the low beams light up
If the light is reversed then check the wiring to the light
You didn't mention what car it is but if it has a light module then the problem may be in it.

Need to know what colors mean on my 2002 headlight wire harness

You need a wiring chart to find the color code . however there are three wires , earth, low beam , high beam, to find same turn lights to high beam, with a vault meter neg. probe to earth probe each wire the live wire is high beam , dip lights and probe again live wire is low beam , other wire is earth wire.

1999 Toyota Camry . Low beams work, but no high beam.

I would guess the switch on the steering column
is worn out, thus no high beam feature

That switch & that part of the lighting system has to be tested

Best if you have wiring diagrams & electrical skills

As with almost all folks that come to any web site, I assume
everyone ends up at a repair shop, because no one says otherwise

Where to hook up power wire for aftermarket driving lights in 93 Nissan Maxima

if you hook the driving lights to the low beam circuit you will be in breach of traffic regulations the regulation reads that driving lights can only be operated with high beams and on selection of low beam , the lights have to go out
added to that is the clause --the driving lights most be extinguishable when on high beam by the use of a separate isolation switch
now the circuit is really simple
you place a relay for each driving light in a suitable place
you run a fused wire from the battery to the relay and then to each light
to make those relays work you connect a wire from the existing high beam relays connections(m piggy back or like connection) so that when on high beam the trigger power that puts the headlights on also triggers the driving light relays
Now to meet regulations you run ground wires for the driving lights back to a switch in the cabin then to ground

What is the part called that one would use instead of a fog light in the front bumper

Are you thinking of driving lights? More focused and reach further down the road ... added lighting for your high beams. Unlike fogs, you need to turn them off when cars are coming towards you. I've got mine wired into the high beams so if they are enabled then they turn on and off with the high beams.

I have a 2005 ram 1500. I want to wire extra

I strongly suggest that you use a relay, or you risk damage to switch and light components.

Then, take a test light, find the high beam wire, and wire the relay to that. In essence, you want the power from the high beam circuit to energize the relay. The relay would be wired directly to the battery.

This method will give you longevity. you are using the high beam power to activate a switch (the relay).

High beam lights and driving lights don`t work

Hi,
I got my daughter a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. They are a lot of electrical work.
The problem is the wiring harness which splits and travels under the battery and the windshield washer reservoir. The wires oxidize and fall apart.
The low beams will work but if you turn on the high beams the lights will go completely out, right?
If this is the case I can pretty much guarantee that you will have to remove the battery, the drivers side front inner fender, the air filter housing, the air throat, and the windshield washer reservoir. You will then be able to open the wiring harness feeding the headlights. The wire that feeds your high beams is a pink wire. Test the wires from the harness plug (located just under the battery) to a point as close to the headlight as you can, Use a simple continuity tester. Also feel and bend the wires. If the insulation cracks and you see a green or lite blue powder then patch a new wire in.
All in all I found 4-wires which I replaced. Everything works now.
Good Luck,
Jay
