Manual...I see now how to do it now, but getting there is the problem. The two rails that come up have a plastic shell around them. I've removed that, and now see the nuts that I need to remove...The problem is, they're easy to take off on the passenger side, because you just slide the passenger seat forward and it's revealed. On the driver side, however...I have absolutely no clue. The nuts are located in a tiny hole in my seat where the seat belt buckles come out of. There is just no way I can fit a socket in that hole. So, I'm halfway there. I just can't get to those damned nuts :)

Thanks Lee. I've managed to get the suckers off, but it wasn't easy! Mind if I hit you up for any questions in the future?

Thanks for the pictures very well organized. Ok yes this is a difficult bolt i would use two long wrenches. Metal hose clamp them would be cheaper then buying the extra long wrench from Snap on to get to this bolt. I have the hole set and of you were close by i would lend it to you. Thank you for the Pictures. if you need further help please reply, Regards, Lee

I want to swap my 2003 Toyota avalon drivers seat with my passenger seat. How do I do this myself?

The seats are not the same. the controls will be on the wrong sides. If you insist on doing this yourself then unplug the wire harness connectors on each seat and remove the 4 bolts holding the seat rail to the floor. There will be plastic covers on the bolts that just pop off.

How can I convert drivers seat in my car to a bench seat

I'm having the same problem after a week in this car! I'm going back to the dealer to see if they have any suggestions. My other thought was to go to an upholstery shop to see if they can fabricate a cushion to make more of a "flat" seat to eliminate the bucket.

You should have a ratchet assembly at each end of the seat with a wire connecting the two. Look under the seat and see if when you pull the adjuster, it should release both sides at once. Also check if the wire is attached at all.

1983 S10 converted with 350 engine and 5 speed Camaro transmission. Do they make a bench seat with a curve in the center to accomodate gear shift clearance?

im sure you could find an aftermarket one if you search around on the internet, if not take any bench seat that you like and take off the bottom clear out some of the interior filling around where the shifter will be and pull the fabric more taunt where it will now be loose and pin to the underside replace the bottom of the seat and install. hope i helped :)

1948 chevy thriftmaster bench seat adjusting

Not sure because this was 20 years before I was born, but the 70's erra seats has the handle with the fork/finger locking teeth with the return spring on the drivers side and there was a tiny hole on the inside where the wire goes.On the under side of the seat attached to the steel wavey springs there were loops just like hog rings that were used to route the wire to the locking lever on the other side.If this is the type of set up you could also use the hard plastic air line.Any heavy truck parts place will have it and it comes in many sizes.Would be easy to rout your wire thru.Well hope the helps and good luck.

Rear bench seat

The only way to remove this is to unbolt it from the sliding rails. I do believe it would still leave some parts in the rails. This seat was designed to only slide forward and not be removed. If you insist on removing it, then you must unbolt it from the sliding rails...
