Where is the idle screw located on a 1999 Saturn need to adjust the idle..Still trying to find out why car will not stay running

There is no screw to adjust the idle , the PCM - engine computer controls the idle with the use of IAC valve , Idle air control valve ! The Base idle is set at the factory an you need not try to adjust it ! You will cause running problem an the check engine light to come on . Try cleaning the throttle plate and the idle air control passages .

Have you check for a vacuum leak? The 5.7 throttle body base gasket can get a crack in it and cause the running issues that the engine is having.Easy test is to plug the hole in the throttle body where the IAC draws air, if the idle slows down then suspect a vacuum leak.

I need to know where the vacum line from the ball shaped object under the hood of my 95 s10 with a 2.2 engine conects to its off and i cant find the place it is supose to hook to

That is the vacuum resevoir tank and I believe it hooks onto a fitting at the base of the throttle body; it should be a small, half inch long tiny pipe. Take off air cleaner which sits on top of throttle body and look on base where it fastens to the engine manifold.

1986 s15 2.8 -engine idles to high (no adjustments) hard on transmission. Please help!!!

Those are noted for the throttle body gasket to get sucked in and break. Spray propane or carb spray around the base of the throttle body. If idle speed changes, the gasket needs to be replaced.

Fast idle

Base idle speed on a GM throttle body truck is not really adjustable.
The computer controls idle speed by regulating the air going into the throttle body via the idle air control valve.
If the idle speed is too high, the control valve could be faulty, the throttle body could be dirty and sticking open, or you could have a vac leak.

High idle after new throttle body

No, a idle sensor is an electrically-operated valve which allows air to bypass the throttle plate in a fuel injected engine to regulate idle speed. The throttle body sensor is used to monitor the position of throttle in internal combustion engine.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a problem with my1989 gmc suburban, the idle is set way too high ( apx 2700 rpm) where is the idle adjustment screw located on the carb?

there is no carb, and no adjustment. if it idles too high, there is a vacuum leak, so check the large hose going from the base of the throttle body to the valve cover. if thats OK, these are known to have a leak at the base gasket, usually at the rear of the throttle body. spray carb cleaner around the base and see if the idle changes, if it does, replace the base gasket.

Car idles too high. Had a replacement idle control valve 3 months ago which resolved the same problem, but it has restarted again now.

check TPS (throttle position switch)connections and TPS switch are renound for issues may need adjusting base idle, also check pcv hole in throttle body base manifold area clean out throttle body also if carboned up
is also possible this idle air control valve (IAC) is sticky due to carbon build up clean with carby cleaner or some sort of solvent

My 2001 nissan altima feels like it isn't getting gas when I am idling. I had the fuel filter changed and it still wants to die on me. Do you know how to increase the rpms, so it will run higher when I am...

Hi Jerry,
Is the idle surging?? going up and down, while at idle?? and not beeing nice and smooth, or the RPM's just drop down and the car dies?? You don't want to touch any of the factory settings on the throttle chamber aka idle screw on the throttle body. That's factory set for life. You may have a IAC -AAC valve problem which a "air volume control valve". Buut let me know first, what you find as far as the "surging up/down goes", but it doesn't die.

VW Polo Classic 1997 IDLE Problems

Hello, VW polos 1.0, 1.4. 1.6, suffer from carbon bulid up in the throttle bodys causing bad idling, esp the Bosch Mono-Motronic (Throttle Body Injection systems), a good clean with carb cleaner should repair the problem, also engine temp sensor replacement and idle speed control valve replacement can help idle problems.
