Question about 2007 GMC Yukon Denali

1 Answer

Last night my 2007 Yukon denali wouldn't start. When trying to enage the starter by turning the key, the lights would go out but starter wouldn't enage. When I released it the key the lights, radio would come back on. Battery is new and I could do all other functions such as opening & closing liftgate, open windows & sunroof. Tried turning the ignition about 30 times over a 15 min period then after resting for 5 min tried it again and it started. When the starter enaged it seems to be spinning at normal speeds. Car has done this serveral times over the years however usually its starts the second time you turn the key. Taken it to the dealer and was told because it was intermtten they couldn't locate problem. Car seems to be fine now. Any suggestions ?

WOW, THIS COULD BE INTERESTING......from a dirty earth connection at the starter to a loose battery post......ignition switch fault to a relay terminal. For anyone/a dealer to "find"this "fault", they would have to have the car as soon as the fault appears.(in other words"you go to start it and nothing, then they start work....)you would need voltmeters/testers..jumper wires...and a lot of patience,(and luck)to find this fault for a reasonable cost........the last time i had a problem like this i swapped cars with my customer for a MONTH before the fault arose.yes we did sort it,starter motor pos pillar isolation compound cracked.....(was a nice ride for me though....)best of luck.Geoff.England.

I have a gmc Yukon denali. It wouldn't start and

Sometimes new starters have to be shimmed so that the gear on the starter lines up with the gear teeth on the flywheel on the motor. The grinding noise is the reason I say that is what's wrong. If there were shims already there, try taking them out. I hope this helps you

My 2007 GMC Yukon Denali occasionally will not start. It will just click or nothing at all. There are no codes being registered, the battery has been changed and cables checked and a new starter has been...

{: ) I wonder how the cables were checked. Did it pass the 200mv voltage drop limit for the negative and positive cables? And do you happen to observe other disturbing symptoms while driving?
You can also try swapping your starter relay (at the underhood fujseblock) with a similar one, also check the relays corresponding terminals on the fuseblock for proper tension. The fuseblock terminals may have loose contacts withe the starter relay.
As for the warranty, it depends on your sales details witn your dealer. Normally a 2007 model is already out of warranty.

2007 gmc yukon denali wont unlock w/ keyfob

Check the buttons.. I have an 06 Grand Prix with the Remote starter on the top and it seems that the conductor on the buttons worn out.. Take the keyfob apart, pull the rubber buttons off the chip, lick your finger and touch the place where the unlock (right side of the fob) would be. That should unlock your doors. I just did it with mine. I would just buy another fob on ebay and change the buttons out.. Hope this works
