Blame a "gremlin" hiding inside your car somewhere.
Technology had surged so far ahead of knowledge that all kinds of these things are happening all over the country every day.
Were you to take your car to 10 more garages, none may be able to accurately diagnose this unless one has had this problem with another car, and found the answer then.
Your alternator has a voltage regulator built inside of it, and that might be your problem.
God bless your efforts.

Brake and battery light on new battery and alternator installed

Wouldn't be a fuse, but it seems as if the alternator is still not putting out normal power, or else your battery has a problem taking a charge. Better have the battery tested for a dead cell. also see what a voltmeter says about alternator output now. If you have an electrical problem in the wiring somewhere or in the alt. charging controls, then possibly one or more of the diodes in the alternator may got burnt out. That means the alternator puts out less power.
On some newer cars, the engine computer, pcm, controls the rate of charge of the alternator. So you have to be careful diagnosing -know how your system operates. That's why mechanics always ask for year, make, model, and engine size if applicable.

Hi my 06 reconstructed cobalt has been giving me trouble lately. I noticed that the display started saying check charge system about a week ago and not long after that its started having trouble start

Sounds like nthe alt. needs to be replaced.

1/ start the car.
1/ remove the lug from the positive terminal and make shure it is isolated from grounding out.
3/ if the car stops running it's the alt. if not it is something else.

One year old battery kept dying. It tested bad and

There is some things to check....

(1) Is your alternator charging? take your vehicle to Advanced Autos, Napa or someone like that and have them test your alternator.
(2) Is there something in the vehicle causing excessive drain on the battery when the motor is not running... like is the interior light may be on or something to that affect.
(3) Are you doing enough driving to recharge your battery? short stops and starts is not good for a battery as you may rob more energy from the battery then you are putting back in.
Sounds like something is draining your battery, something must be left on in the vehicle, Advanced Autos or Napa should be able to tell if something is draining your battery when the vehicle is off.
