Check for hidden access covers for mounting hardware if not the pannel is secured either lock-pins released by a plastic weidge or needs to be lifted upward of weidge hooks mounted on the pannel itself. A cheep service manual like haynes at the local autoparts store should have this info in it.

This is a common problem on many Grand Ams. GM has a recall out there on the 00-03 models. Unfortunately they discontinued the recall for the 04 and newer models. The flasher most likely needs to be replaced. The part costs about $30 and labor can run you between 70 and 90 dollars an hour. The part only takes about 30 minutes to be replaced. So you can either get it repaired or just turn your radio up really loud and drown out the ticking noise!!! :D

I have had this problem now three times. Twice the dealership has replaced the entire left door speaker. It's out again and this the car is no longer under warranty.... is there an easier fix/less expensive fix now?

SOURCE: my steering column is locked
The battery dead? Remove the battery cables and wait and then see if the key will turn. If it will not remove the key ( will it come out?) the key can be the wrong one ( maybe) you can have a blown fuse. Any fuse so you need to check them all. If the key will turn with the battery disconnected then put the car in park and turn the key off and remove it from the car. with the window down and the doors all closed and the hod open reconnect the known good ( charged Battery) with the battery connected don't open the door but reach in and put the key in and start the car. the doors should lock when the engine starts. reach in and unlock the door and get in and close the door. then turn the car off and remove the key get out and close the door and lock it with the key. wait a minute and then unlock the door with the key get in and drive away like normal. do everything though or you'll unset the reset cycle. Make shure that the break lights work as they control the unlocking feature of the collum.
