Question about Chevrolet Monte Carlo

1 Answer

I have a forest green 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo that runs good enough to drive. It has 350,000 miles (second motor). The body (interior and exterior) is not in good condition, but isn't horrible. The frame is fine.... How much can I sell it for? Where can I sell it? (The last time I put ads in some old car magazines, most of the people who responded were from distant states, and I was warned they might be crooks.) I am in Anaheim, California....Asiafilm

Hi, depending on the condition and how much power the car has, it can go for $10,000. But since you said the interior and exterior are not in good condition, you should expect something lesser but a good engine will make it get a good value because the body can easily be fixed as compared to the engine.
You can still put the ads in car magazines, you can also try ebay.com, oldcars.com, oldride.com

2001 chevy monte carlo is overheating when driving

Hi;
If your engine cools down when moving fast, you either have a problem with your water pump or your electric fans that cool off your radiator and a/c condenser. This is controlled by a temperature switch, but these fans should kick on instantly when A/C is selected.

I had this same problem on my 2005 monte carlo, took mechanic a while to figure out it was the idle air control valve. They also replace the idle air control motor.

the complete nose up to the front doors are bolted on.the only thing that gets a little tricky is the lower radiator support. just take youre time and it can be all disassembled and rebolted with out too much trouble.
