It is possible your mechanical ignition switch is either out of adjustment or bad. This is not related to the thermostat - sometimes things go bad in droves ( my luck too) to check alignment of the mechanical switch the steering column will have to be lowered to gain access to the switch. Typically you'll have to remove the lower dash panel under the column and then remove the 2 to 4 nuts holding it up to the dash - then you'll see a rectangular structure mounted on top of the column with a cluster of wires going into it and a small metal bar entering through the front - this is the mechanical switch which may have moved slightly ( it doesn't take much ) or it could also be bad. Try adjusting the switch towards the steering wheel and test for operation. If this doesn't work then you may need to replace the switch. It may sound difficult but it really isn't that bad of a job.
Good luck!

I would start by replacing the ignition switch. That's the easiest and cheapest option to start with.

Change engine oil light will not go off

To reset the change oil reminder light, do the following;
1) turn key to RUN position, but do not start engine,
2) press accelerator pedal to the floor three times and release within 5 seconds,
3) turn key to OFF position.

If this does not reset light, repeat again.

The first step is to narrow down the cause of the no-start.

Let's go over the process of starting the car, so you have a better understanding of what is going on when you turn the key:

Here is what happens on a properly running car:

  • You sit behind the wheel and insert the ignition key into the switch.

  • You then turn the key to the spring loaded start position. When you do that, the ignition switch engages the starter by connecting the battery to the electric starter motor which, in turn cranks the engine over. This can be easily heard and is referred to as cranking the engine over.

  • The next thing you will hear is the engine running, which is your signal to release the key.

  • At that point, the engine is running and you are ready to place the transmission selector in Drive and be on your way.

Runs while key is being held on. as soon as you release key to driving derections. jeep stop runing. can any one help me.

I don't quite understand what you mean by be held on. Normally you "hold on" to the key to start it and let it go back to the on position. If you have to hold the key on (start position) then you can might not be starting. The starter is turning the engine, but the engine not running? What happens when you give it gas?

What is Sensor IAT (PO11) My engine like came on the day after an oil change.

Not positive on this but won't hurt. Turn ignition key on to run position (not start), depress and release the accelerator three times within 5 seconds, Then turn key off. They may have just forgot to reset the oil change indicator. Hope this helps.
