I have a 91 Town Car that I am trying to figure out why my Automatic Climate Control Panel is not functioning properly. The air will be cold and when I make a right turn the air starts blowing hot.

The blend door may have broke and is just moving around freely. See if you can control it hot to cold. If you can't the door is broken or became disconnected from the accutator.

Broken door locks

Then you'll be needing to remove the inside door panel. There should be a clip on the lock mechanism and a rod attached to it. What I'd do is go down to a u-pull it lot and find a similar model and remove the door panel and see what you're up against. Then you can decide if you want to get into it yourself or have it done by a mechanic or a locksmith, whichever is cheaper. Goog luck.

Cold air only from heater

first check temp gauge on dash is it normal if so termostat is fine than check the heater hoses going inside from engine compartment if they are hot rule out control valve if it in the engine compartment sit in the vehicle and listen for any noise when you move heater temp switch from cold to hot if you hear clicking noises and no change it may be blend door accutator with moves when you slide or turn heat control nob the heater may have to be removed on some models eexpensive repair may be needed

00' yukon xl no heat in front but works fine in back

You might want to try back flushing the heater core. This is probably your problem. If you know where the heater hoses go into the back wall of the engine compartment then feel the hoses. They should both be hot to the touch with the engine at operating temperature. If one is hot and the other you can hold your hand on it all day. Then try flushing the heater core.If it warms up some or gets any better. Then this is your problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have heat for defrost but when i turn it to cold to put the a/c on it blows out hot air. i thought it just needed more freigon but it wouldnt take it could it be the compressor has gone bad?

Not necessarly, have the pressures checked on your ac system, that will determine if the compressor is weak. Could be you have a blend or an accutator door not opening for it to blow cold air, or several other reasons.

How much does it typically cost to replace a motor accutator for the air vents only? My local Chevy wants to charge me $621.00! Help!

The motor itself costs about $120 - as here http://compare.ebay.com/like/110616174057
The door motor is under the drivers dash to the right of the gas pedal. You would have to remove the panel above the gas pedal to see it. Here's a direct link to a diagram of it

Replacing it is an one hour job which you can do yourself - $621 is a ripoff.

Ac hot on drivers side

you better check the venting pipes to make sure they are not seperated chances are it will be in a pain in the **** place to get at.the only way to see if the damper door is operating you will have to remove the section and try it looking in each end of the piping if possible
