If the service engine soon light is ON and Fan is ON, then normally this happen because the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) is faulty, and send wrong signal to the Engine Computer. Replacing the temperature sensor with a good one solve the problem. Sometimes this happen because no connection between the temperature sensor and engine computer, bad connector contact, or corroded wire at the temperature sensor. In this case the computer keeps the fan all the time ON.
If the service engine soon light is OFF, the fan relay might be stuck closed. Replacing the relay with a good one solve the problem.
The third cause is a faulty Engine Computer, but it is rare.

A bad relay that is sticking closed causing the fan to come on or a bad coolant temperature sending unit or switch which is telling the relay to go on when not hot.

With hot battery, turn all off, wait 10 minutes and then feel of all relays to see if one is warm or hot. Stuck relay can cause this.

It sound as though your fan temperature switch might be faulty making the computer thing the engine it hot even though it is not. This is where I would start, it might not end up being the problem, but it is not and expensive part to replace and it is fairly easy to change.

What causes an engine to get hot

Yes a restricted converter can cause an engine to over heat because it can't breath correctly so it make the engine work harder . Cooling fans not working is one of the most common causes for 93 to 95 dodge caravans over heating . their is a cooling fan control mddule located on the inside of the frame rail next to the radiator on the drivers side of the van that goes bad very often . Thermostat sticking is another fault that can cause over heating

I bought a 95 Camaro z28 with a lt1 v8 and I just changed alot of sensors and the water pump, pcv, thermostat, gauge sensor ,all the cooling hoses ,spark plugs and wires ,new opti-connector,fans are...

Did you burp the air out of the cooling system? That needs to be done if you haven't - air will trap the thermostat and keep it from opening. Check my tips and tricks for how to do this.

I have a 1995 camaro z28 5.7liter v-8 and it keeps on running hot when i leave the a/c on and when the car is at an complete stop.someone told me i need a water pump i bought one but it is still running...

Check your cooling fans to make sure they are running when it's hot. If they are not running, you need to replace the coolant temperature sensor, which is mounted on the radiator and it tells your fans when to turn on based on the engine temperature.

Car is overheating

First make sure the cooling system is full. This might require letting it cool and filling it more than once though the main raditor cap. Then it needs looked over for leaks. If it won;t stay full it'll overheat. The hose from the recovery tank to the raditor connection at the cap is a problem spot and it the raditor can't **** the coolant from the tank back into the raditor the engine will soon get low. If these things are alright then you neeed to watch it heat up, and see what's happening. The engine should worm up and as it does the upper raditor hose will warm and but hot but not right away. The side of the raditor should start to warm up soon after that, Touching the raditor it should warm up evenly from top to bottom if it doesn;t it's clogged. If the hose and engine get hot and the pressure inside the hoses rise but the raditor says cool then the therostate is sticking and needs to be changed. If the whole radidor gets hot till everythings too hot and the fan does'nt come on then you need to test the fan and it's fuses and connections. The cooling fan will be comanded on if you unplug the coolant temperture senser that's pluged into the side of the therosate hoseing as it's where the upper hose connects to the engine. If the fan seems to be coming on and hot air is coming off the back of the fan and it's still getting too hot and you've decided that the whole radidor is getting evenly hot then the engine may have an issue. Exhaust clogged up ( cat canvertor, muffer bent pipes) The check engine light might be on and the reasons it's on need to be examinded.

Ac not blowing cool air. How many fan are there in the engine department? how does the fan system work to cool the condenser?

The fans are inportant but the regular raditior fan will do it and the road speed of the car will blow enough air though the codenser to make it cool if it's going to. Does the compressor turn on? if it does do the lines hooked to it get hot?( the small one) and the big one get cold? The condenser should get hot, Hot enough to burn you and the freon level may be wrong and or the compressor isn't pumping. ( brocken inside)

Z28 95 running hot

Is the fan running or do you have an electric fan? If fan isnt running or never comes on no matter what you do it will never run much cooler. If fan is good then you could flush the radiator a couple of times and that will help but if fan isnt working it wont last long

Overheating prob in chevy camaro z28 97

Check for obstruction in front of radiator/condenser that would cause loss of airflow through the core.Sometimes these cores get clogged with bugs or debris and airflow is deminished. The reason for overheat with A/C on is that the condenser adds to the heat in front of the radiator and if there is not enough airflow then the engine also runs hot because radiator can not be cooled sufficiently.
hope this helps
