G,day got a problem with oil coming out of the engine breather pipe,have changed oil filter,truck is going fine no over heating but having to top oil up,

Does the engine breather pipe have a pcv valve on it?
How much oil do you have to add? in a week? In a month?

    Hi Duane,thanks for getting back to me ,i do interstate in the truck,and between syd/melb it just needs toping up a litre /- it is leaving a pool of 10/20mls on ground when pulling up for fuel i spoke to a ud specialist he said it is a blockage or oil filter changed filter and cant find a blockage............dave.

    If the engine is cleaned off and the leak is detected at a certain spot, that will be helpful in trying to see if the tube that is leaking can somehow be sealed without jeopardizing function of the engine.

    If the oil filter were clogged how would that cause an oil leak? What theory is behind that?

Oil is coming from pcv or breather pipe. You probably have excessive piston ring wear causing blowby and forcing combustion gasses up the engine and into the breather and pcv system. Oil will come with the gasses if not filtered out. Check the pcv valve for proper operation and check any breather cap for baffles to keep the oil in the valve covers. Also consider getting an engine rebuild, if you want to keep the car.

I got a deutz 2011 tb deisel engine which is puting oil out threw the small breather pipe which comes from head to rubber intake pipe to turbo,air filter side.which is puting the oil out the exhaust
If you mean the breather is throwing out oil then you have a problem as this is caused by back pressure within the engine ,cause worn piston rings

1999 audi a6 shakes, in ocations violently. Raw fuel smell. Loss of power. Burnt oil smell. idles poorly
If you had the ecu read it would probably say egr code. also a number of other codes to do with injectors and co2 sensor. you need to clean out the egr and clean out the air vent pipe from the sump to the top. also clean out the idle valve on the in take. also the breather pipes. you may even need to change the air filter. and when was the fuel filter changed. an oil change a filter change would not go a miss if it has not been done in awhile. routing maintenance will stop this happening again.

I would recommend an oil change first and second I suggest that you get in the habit of checking and topping up the oil as it is critical that you keep the oil level correct. Less oil hotter oil hence smoke and possible engine failure

either the engine breather is gummed up or their is piston ring blow back .check the engine breather pipe first as their is often a gauze filter in them on certain models of vehicles and without regular oil changes they become carbonised up

Volvo v50 t5 oil leak
Most likely it is the breather tube and/or the oil trap box (integrated into the oil filter housing). if the box is plugged or the diaphragm is torn the box will send oil to the top of the engine via the hose.

do you also have a high pitched whistling noise?

Volvo has extended the warranty for the oil trap box (filter housing) to 120k miles and/or 10 years.

My audi has a oil leak of some sort which is leaking into the air filter unit and has soaked my air filter, the oil leak is coming form aline that runs along the top and side if the air intake unit. why...
follow the line backwards down to the block and clean the breather(if fitted) this is not an oil leak, the pipe is there to **** up the engine pressure when decelerating.........the air filter should be changed every 20 thousand miles/2 years.....
