If it's 4WD it recommends removing front gravel shield, and connector from oil pressure switch, then drain oil and remove oil filter. Then should come out top.

Describe your how to replace a starter on nissan Problem

Thanks for the inquiry.
I would definetly be suggesting and emphasising to disconnect the negative lead from the battery to remove first......
Suggest going through the right front wheel well after removing the tire. You may have to remove a clamp or two that hold some some steel hydraulic lines, just bend them a little out of the way and you will have access.
If it's 4WD recommend removing front gravel shield, and connector from oil pressure switch, then drain oil and remove oil filter. Then should come out top You probably will not be able to lower it for lack of space. I
t will still be a tight fit.
To reinstall lower in from top and proceed in reverse order.

How to remove starter motor on 3liter v6 on 95 pathfinder

If you are underneath the vehicle on the passenger side, you will see the starter, and you will need to use a wrench to take the 2 bolts out, as the space is tight. Once the bolts are out, you can slide the starter toward the front of the vehicle, out of the transmission, and then you will be able to lower it to take the wires loose.

Starter for 1995 pathfindert

I copied this directly out of my manual.

Starter removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. On models equipped with a V6 engine, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands.

2. Remove the wires from the starter solenoid. Label the wires and terminals to prevent confusion during installation.

3. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts.

4. Lift out the starter motor and solenoid.
5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

I have a 1992 nissan pathfinder 3.0 v6 4x4 and the starter went out on it and ive tryed just undoing the bolts but one is very difacult to get to how would i get to is and would it be better to take it in...

Hello there I have the exact same problem. Here is what I read on another webpage... it seems correct to me after looking at my Pathy last night and being puzzled.

disconnect neg. battery terminal, remove wires from starter solenoid( starter located on rh side of engine as you are sitting in the driver seat, solenoid is smaller cylindrical metal and attached to starter.) remove starter mounting bolts 2-( 1 top and 1 bottom) Too bad it's not that easy. You have to then drain the oil to take off the oil filter, take off the exhaust manifold heat shield, and take out the oil pressure switch. Then, you can take out the starter by the passenger side engine mount. An alternate way of doing this would be to take it straight out after remove the bolt holding the engine wire chasis and stabilizer bar. This may take less patience, but it is more work so I wouldn't recommend it.
