Question about 2004 Porsche Cayenne
This noise may be the belt tensioner going bad. they make noise till they get hot then will quite down. power steering pumps will make these kinds of noises as well if they are low on fluid or going bad.
im guessing that this noise also occurs when you first start your car while its cold and at high idle.
if you open your hood to improve being able to hear the sound. if you take a medium size screw driver and put the tip on the case of the different components like alternator power steering pump ect the noise can be felt through the screwdrivers handle. try this its a good easy way to find noisy moving parts
