The most common source for this is oil leaking on to the exhaust manifolds. The fumes get picked up by the heater air intake...Look for other leaks while there.

oil leaking on the exhaust is a very bad thing, this is a recall from pontiac as the Grand prix was burning to the ground, they will install new gaskets and drip rail to lessen the chance of oil on the pipes, usually happens under heavy braking...

Burning plastic smell when cold out run heater and fan inside car and out

Are you loosing radiator fluid. sometimes the heater core will rupture and you will smell burn odor. also check for strange rubbing sounds or screeching coming from the blower fan motor. or engine exhaust manifolds are hot when car is on, make sure nothing is leaning on them which will cause a burn odor. Any odor coming from outside will find it's way inside through the fresh air vents.

2005 Sentra heater doesn't blow?

Likely the blower motor has burnt out. I would take it off and test with jumper wires off a battery. Inspect the wiring to it for any damage.

Noise and burning smell from heater

Yeah.
Pine needles get into the heater box and clog the heater fan motor's "fan".
You also may have rodents in there, making nests.
The wife was smart to turn off the heater fan B-4 the fuse blew.

When I turn my Jeep Liberty heater on, it smells like something electrical is burning. When I turn the heater off, it stops. Any idea what could cause this?

the heater inside the car takes the engine heat of your car and help in heating it that is why this smell is coming

When i drive after some time is getting bad smaile

Bad smells can come from a variety of heated item in a car.

The key word is HEATED. After you drive, and you smell the bad odor, park the car (engine running) and walk around the car smelling and sensing (not touching) for heated areas.

Lift the hood, and see if there are anythings that look out of the ordinary. The engine will be hot, but there are hoses and wires all over the engine compartment. look carefully to see if you have any wisps of smoke anywhere.

Melted wires or hoses. If you just filled the oil, you could be smelling oil burning off the block. This applies to any fluids.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

Heat/ac fan doesn't work

go to the ac fan resistor first - then check the fan itself (put 12 v), remove climate control and check plug for shortage-melted wires
