Codes do not tell you what to replace.
The cam sensor most likely was okey

PO302--as you said, is a misfire on cylinder #2,work on that problem
Spark plug wire,bad coil pack,etc.

Seek professional help,it will be quicker, cheaper in the long run, and they can verify it will pass inspection.

OBD Codes and check lights, only indicate a possible system malfunction
Then you need the knowledge, to diagnose the system ,and find the cause of the MIL Lamp being on

Passing smog

code p 1340 refers to crank position sensor and camshaft position sensor signals out of sequence
the results of the pretest smog test at 2400 rpm suggest that the cam advance solenoid or system is failing
that will alter the sequence of the signals resulting in the code and failing of the smog test
as to answer you question , I am not convinced at this point but I consider the cam advance system to be at fault and would be testing in that area

P1309 misfire code

Could be that the camshaft position sensor could be defective, or the camshaft synchronizer (the part that took the place of the distributor on DIS engines) is failing, or if you have recently had the camshaft synchronizer replaced it could be out of time....

2002 taurus 3.0L OHV stalls when hot have replaced IAC,camshaft position sensor, fuel pump and there are no codes on engine stall occurs most often when slowing and turning

If you have to wait to restart its usually a faulty coil or ignition module.
Someone would need to troubleshoot the ignition system when the engine fails to start to proceed. Could be a faulty relay too.

My 96 Taurus Wagon bucks a sputturs when hot and won't go over 3000 rpm's, i had the cam positioning sensor replaced and that didn't do it and it was 100 dollar part, would it do that if t

I would say the code said the sensor was not giving the right signal. Very seldom does a code state to replace a part.
There may still be a problem with the camshaft or the relationship to the crank. (timing)
As for the temp sensor, if it is faulty you should get a trouble code for it.

It depends on which engine you have. It's between the cylinder heads either on the front (by the belt) or the back. Your sensor looks something like this:

Engine light on with code P1309

This code could mean:
  • the camshaft position sensor could be defective,
  • the camshaft synchronizer (the part that took the place of the distributor on DIS engines) has failed,
  • if you have recently had the camshaft synchronizer replaced it could be out of time.

My car is not pumping oil a 1997 Ford Taurus I replaced the oil pump

Im guessing you need to replace the gear on the camshaft position sensor! it also drives the oil pump. its a common failure its made of plastic or fiber. im sure you also have a camshaft position sensor code. replace that gear and hopefully your motor is ok! good luck!
