In the fuel tank. You are going to have to drop the tank completely to get the best access you can. Should take about 3 - 4 hours to change it if you know what you are doing. I would recommend that you get a Chiltons or Hanes manual

Where is fuel pressure regulator on 2006 silverado hd

the regulator is in the fuel tank where the pump is. this system should be a single line system. check fuel pressure with a gage and volume. it sounds like you have a bad fuel pump. check the filter for plugging. this takes less time then going after the regulator first.

Where is the fuel filter located on 2006 chevy silverado 1500 ext.cab?

Chevorlet did away with the inline fuel filter on the Silverado, so your truck does not have one that can be serviced or replaced like the earlier models had.
They have a "lifetime" filter/strainer built into the fuel sender inside the tank...I hope this helps.

Where is the fuel filter at in the 2006 Chevy Silverado?

The fuel filter on a 2006 Silverado is part of the fuel pump module - which also contains the fuel level sender and pump. They are lifetime filters and only need to be replaced in the wake a catastrophic event.

Change Fuel Filter on 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

It's on the driver side frame. It's not hard to install one. Just have to have a special tool to get the line off the filter.
