I have 2003 Taurus and when I am geting on the expressway and excelerant my car act like it is missing. i change the spare plugs and wire, but it still does the same thing. And the only time it does it is when I punch it.
Angelo the weather has not aloud me to check and see if that is the problem. The forecast is for better weather this week, but if this does not solve the problem what other things do you suggest I should look since I will be working on it? And I would like to check as much as I can before the weather changes.

The next part that you should check is the fuel pump. Since you only experience this problem when you accelerate the car.The next part that you should check is the fuel pump. Since you only experience this problem when you accelerate the car.

You need to get a scan tool and see what codes it is throwing when the light comes on. This will eliminate the needless replacing of parts by guessing.
The error code 302, means misfiring at cylinder 2 while
code316 means misfiring detected in first 1000 revolutions. The reason for
misfiring may be faulty spark plug, faulty plug ground connection or can be
damaged wires.
Sounds like a ground wire problem. Does it act up in the rain or after a wash? That could indicate the fuse block under the hood my be geting moisture. But definitely check the main ground, fuse Block ground, and headlights ground. Check headlights plugs n turn signal plugs n sockets. Also, start by changing the bulbs. Both of them. There's two filaments in each bulb, one for marker lights and one for blinking
is the car missing when driving? 2000 and on has coil over plug's there are no wires. Is the check engine light on? if so go to an Auto Zone parts store or one that will scan the car computer for free and get the codes out to pin point the problem. Sounds like the cars miss firing. it could be more than one coil and or plug going bad. Did you replace any coil packs? Bad coil packs are 90% of all miss fires on todays cars and trucks.
Yes it will act like it has a miss if the car is in park and you rev the car up, but if you are going down the road and hit 4200 rpm's it should not. Try checking the computer and see if it has any codes pending or hard codes in it.
Do you have the "firing order" correct? In other words, is each spark plug wire going to the same cylinder it was on before you changed the plugs? If you have done nothing else but changed the plugs then this is the most likely problem.
If when you try to start the car it backfires through the exhaust or backfires through the intake. Then this " IS" the problem. Good luck.
that would be a good start. pull the plug on # 1 cylinder and plug into wire now crank engine you should get spark same as # 5 cylinder if no spark replace the coil pack
