Depending upon how long it's been since your last tuneup (they do need tuneups at 100,000 miles, you might need new plugs and points. My 2004 had the exact same problem and it was completely resolved by changing plugs and points.

Tuneup 2006 tundra

A "tune up" is not rquired on this engine, the computer makes al necessary adjustments, there is nothing to adjust. Possibly spark plug replacement if it's a V-6 they should be replaced at 30,000 miles the V-8 engines use iridium plugs which last about 100,000 miles, the timing belt on both engines should be replaced at 90,000 miles, replace the air filter every 30,000 and change oil and filter at 4,000 miles. I would aslo recommend cleaning the carbon out of the throttle body at around 60,000 miles to prevent low idle and stalling.

Tuneup 2006 v6

A tune up on this model is just a new set of plugs every 100,000 miles or so no matter what the owners manual says. The plugs are under the individual coil overs, remove the coils to access the plugs (and whatever else is in the way)

How do i know i need tuneup in 2003 pontiac grand am

the rule thuumb on a tune up, is 100,000 miles or 5 to 6 years. replacement of spark plugs and wires is a good idea at 100,000 miles. also will need to inspect coil towers for any signs of corrosion

My car is throwing a code for misfire on cylinders 1 and 3. It has 59000 miles and has had all required maintnence done? Is it a known issue or a fluke. I shouldn't have to do a tuneup until...

100,000 mile tune-up intervals is a complete joke! The only reason the manufacturer does this, is so they can market the car as "maintenance free". Spark plugs are relatively cheap compared to catalytic converters. If you drive around with a marginal ignition system you will destroy the cat and O2 sensors. You will also get terrible gas mileage. Change the plugs every 40,000 miles regardless of what they're made of and what the clowns that sold the car say. They cost peanuts! That said, your miss could be a bad plug, a fouled injector, or a bad ignition wire / coil extension. Change the plugs now, erase the codes and see if they return. If any miss codes return, you'll need to do some further diagnosis into the other items I mentioned but you need the plugs now anyway and they will probably solve the problem.

3,000 to 5,000 for oil changes, 15,000 for fuel filter, 30,000 for transmission, 60,000 for differentials, 100,000 miles for "tuneups".
