To take off your door panel, follow the steps below:

  • Raise the window of the door panel you wish to remove. Disconnect the negative battery cable and engage the parking brake for safety.
  • Remove the sail panel trim from the upper portion of the door panel. The sail panel panel is attached by clips; pop the panel off and disconnect the power window switch (if equipped).
  • Pull the interior door handle towards you to access the door handle trim screw. Remove the screw and slide the door handle panel off the door panel.
  • Pry up the window switch control panel and disconnect the electrical modules. Set the panel aside. Remove the three panel-mounting screws on the lower portion of the door panel.
  • Use the trim panel tool to help you pop the door panel clips from the door. Work your way around the entire door, until all of the clips are removed. Carefully remove the panel from the door.
Take care and good luck

Passenger side door window off track and recessed in door

I have removed the screws I could find from the passenger front door of 2008 escape. The motor runs; I can see the loose cable and spring connector from the bottom. I cannot get the inside door panel loose after removing the retainer screws.
I am looking for specific instructions please. Thanks!

I have a 2001 Ford Escape with a passenger side front door that will not open from outside (handle is just pulls out and does not go in) and inside handle does not release the door either. To get the door...

You might try having someone inside, pulling steadily on the door handle and then 'bumping' near the latch assembly on the outside with the heel of the hand. This will cause some confused latches to let go again.

Need to vistit the dealer ans ask about recall 04V602000: Liftgate Latch Release Rod Replacement

Certain 2004-2005 sport utility vehicles and certain 2001-2003 sport utiity vehicles having rear liftgate components serviced with 2004 equivalent components fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components." The rear liftgate latching system does not meet the inertia load requirement in one direction.

Good luck.

2001 ford escape driver side door won't open from the outside, but will open from the inside latch. Is it a mechanical problem or a software problem? The door locking latch closes and opens with the FOB as...

sounds like the rod from the outside hande is no longer attached to the latch. probably broke at the handle. you will need to remove the inner door panel and should be able to isolate the problem then.
