Hi,

You may have a problem with your fuel pump or your fuel filters. This is usually caused by a lack of flow of fuel to the engine immediately when it has been sitting.

Also need to check your spark plugs for the spark and make sure there are no problems with lead wires to same.

My 94 subaru legacy wagon wont start. It only clicks when i turn on the key. I had starter checked and it tested good.

Hello and welcome to FIxYa!

It can be caused by a week battery. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you have the battery charged or have it replaced for the starter to kick fully.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Still having a very hard start (1994 legacy)

Your car is OBD I. If you take your car to an autozone or similar auto parts store they will read your codes for free. You can buy a code reader if you wish but you will have to get the plug for a subaru also. They can be found on ebay. The code should be cleared once the engine check light is off.

1998 Subaru legacy wagon intermittently starts in warm weather

thats probably the timing belt/chain depending on what your car has. when it gets hot its stretches a little bit and makes it just enough out of time where it wont start. when it cools down, it tightens back to the correct timing and allows it to start right. Hope this helps

not sure if this will help, but I recently changed the engine in my subaru and changed battery + starter also. Would start but then not restart once warmed up. Turns out the engine ground got forgotten, had that hooked back up after banging my head on a wall for a week and it runs like new
