Question about 1999 Mazda 626

Open Question

My cooling fan will not come on in my 2000 Mazda 626. I have changed fans, and cooling sensor, but still no luck. I also checked to see if the plug was hot and it was, so it can't be the relay. Please help.

There should be two fuses for the cooling fan relay in the main box near the battery.
You could have air pockets in the cooling system which would affect the temp sensor.

When i shut off car fan still stays running. i have 2000 mazda 626

Hello, this was common in some vehicles, the fan would cool down the motor and than cut out when the vehicle was switched off. It was actually a quite good idea because when you switch the motor off, the water pump stops working and there is no air flow to the radiator and engine, which makes the engine temperature higher, the fan just cools it down, just make sure it does cut out after a couple of minutes.

I know this may seem like a stupid answer but did you remember to check the coolant level? if the coolant dont reach the sensor it wont work properly.

My radiator fan won't turn and I was told it might be the relay. The parts store tells me my 2002 Mazda 626 LX does not have a relay. Is there another name for a similar part?

It has a cooling fan module, but other things come into this problem too, like the coolant sensor, witch tells the computer to tell the module to turn the fan on,and then off, also, check the cooling fan to see if it is good, and the fuse for the cooling fans,

I have a 1996 Mazda 626, the check engine light came on and the car has been redlining the the temp gauge. I got the engine codes which are: p0117 and p0421. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?...

The cooling fan must run or the car must be running into the wind to keep from cooking the engine. Physically turn the fan to see if it turns freely (cold engine). The computer reads coolant temperature and trips the fan relay on when normal temperature is reached. You need to read the control voltage at the relay to determine the problem. Possible bad temp sensor.
