Is there a trick to loosening the power steering pump pulley to remove the belt? Thanks!

Loosen the pivot bolt. Most have an adjusting bolt and a pivot bolt where the PS pump can move back and forth a bit.

The coolant looks like it's coming out on the passenger side of car near the pully for the belt

I'd check the water pump, probably bearings are going out and the seal
is going out.. Is it making noise? You can slip the serpintine belt off the water pump pulley working with the idler tension as you do so. Once it's free move it around (the pulley) check it for "slopping" you know "slop". Good luck

The belt in my 01 Dodge Dakota squeals badly. Started when I had my power steering pump replaced. I tried changing the belt and the tensioner, but still squeals. Is it possible the pulley on the power...

excess mechanical drag from the pump can cause the belt to slip and squeal, but before focusing on the pump I'd check the condition, tension and alignment of the belt. I might even try cleaning all the pulleys with an aerosol brake cleaner and install a new belt, particularly if the current one has more than 50,000 miles on it. It might be that the squeal is coming from or caused by a different belt-driven accessory.
A more typical noise from a power-steering pump is a high-pitched whine, not a squeal. Usually, if the steering wheel is stationary, meaning that the steering rack is not "asking" for assistance from the high-pressure fluid from the pump, there's little or no noise

I HAVE A SQEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE PULLEY UNDER THE ALTERNATOR IN MY 1999 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 3.8L

This could be the belt slipping or a bearing going/gone in your alternator, air conditioner, steering pump, idler pulley or water pump.

My serpentine belt broke while driving, I replaced the belt but the belt drifts or slips a little at the bottom large pulley, so I changed the power steering pulley since it seemed to have some play in it...

you could adjust your tensioner to fix it, but most likely your power steering pumps pulley is not completely parallel with the the crank pulley

Power steering stop working on our 99 dodge caravan. What could be the cause. The PS fluid is full

Check the belt tht drives the power steering pump.
If the belt is on thn there may be a problem with the power steering pump.

I think my power steering pump has seized, the pulley does not rotate. Can i do anything to rectify the problem myself......there is a sqeaking noise when i turn the ignition on and have to turn off again...

Make sure the engine is cold

Take the belt off (if it not already off already)

Turn it in both directions.

Power steering AND/OR power steering rack can fail.

I will check for leaks on the rack first.

A bad/failing rack can dislodge metal partials.

The pump circulate these metals and jam the pump.

Please do not rule out the rack.

When you change the pump....make sure you blow out the rack and check for metal partials.

My 1999 dodge Intrepid makes a loud whining noise (like a power steering pump) any time it is running... Any ideas on what it could be?

if the winning noise gets louder when you turn the steering wheel, it is the power steering pump.
99 to 04 intrepids have a serpintine belt with a self tightner.what i did with mine is **** the old power steering fluid out with a shop vac.replaced half with new fluid and top up with a transmission/power steering fluid additive.the noise went away after a couple of days.
