When i ran my wires I put my module under the hood so all i had was switch wires going into my car, mounted control on drivers side inner fender, have never had any problems with it, the wire for the switch i ran next to my throttle cable boot into the car.

My neon won't start with cam position sensor plugged in. unplugged it will start and run at 2000 rpm or less. replaced sensor. no change. replaced timing belt. no change

Short on the wiring ! What year neon ? Has three wires to the sensor , one should have five volts , one is grounded inside the PCM an the other is signal return to PCM . One of these is shorted !Probably the signal return wire . Videos on youtube on testing ! Five volt reference going through the sensor to signal circuit back the PCM is shorted bring down the reference circuit inside PCM causing this .

I have a 97 Dodge neon that sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders. I've changed the plugs, wires, coilpack, and fuel filter and still no change. I also took the #1 plug wire and the car doesn't die

What you describe here leads me to believe blown head gasket. Check radiator coolant level, then do a compression test on all four cylinders. You should have 115-150 compression in each cylinder. If your reading is down to about 25-75 on two of your cylinders. you will have your answer. If the car is still worth keeping change the head gasket and get another two years of driving.GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

I have a 2002 Dodge Neon outside a town called Hillsboro, TX. It was slowing way down even when I was puching the pedal. Then it jumped forward like, and then slow again. Then it died. I restarted it, but...

I would have it checked. Neon's and PT cruisers ( same engines in some) are known for having a part of the wiring harness coming loose and rubbing on the CV shaft. wears through wiring going to Crankshaft position sensor. Car will not run after that. If that is the Problem it is an easy fix. about 1Hour roughly. Repair wiring and Zip tie back into place. I have done quite a few of them.

Last year my 2003 neon stopped running and we had the timing chain replaced WE got 40 miles and the car stopped then wouldn't even turn over we changed a fuse and got it to run another 70 miles to limp...

I would say yes, if it wouldn't let the car run, then yes the wire may be frayed now, repair the wires first and eliminate that problem . then have the codes read,

My Dodge neon A/C only work when I press on the Brake pedal Disconnect the Plug and jump it and it will work

look in the fuse panel at fuse #22 and fuse # 23 for power. fuse # 22 controls the a/c compressor clutch relay, and fuse # 23 controls power to brake switch. with the car running and the a/c switch on check for power on both sides of both fuses again. remove fuse # 23 and recheck for power on the a/c fuse. if no power to fuse for the a/c then you either have a short in the wiring between the a/c and the brake switch fuses. if you have had someone to do any electrical work on the inside of the car they have tapped into the wiring under the dash or the fuse panel to connect the the two wires together to get power. the brake switch wire and the a/c wires are not on the same circuit. the wire you can check on the outside next to the fuse panel will be a pink/dark blue wire controlling the brake switch (power). and the wire for the a/c compressor clutch relay will be red/ lite green or red/ black controlling power to the relay. you may look under the fuse panel to see if the wires for fuse #23 and # 23 are touching together causing a short.hope this will help!!!!

My car( neon 97) didnt have fog lights originaly and i dont know how to instal it

its not a bad job on a neon ,the fog light kit you will buy will come with a switch and the relay and wiring for installing them, they also came with a real good set of directions for doing this,if you need to get someone to help you with doing this, sometimes running the wires is tricky, but other than that the fog lights can be mounted in the same place as the originals was,and they look good,i sold my 97 neon and i had fog lights on it,they were after market but looked and worked excellent, with a little work and time anyone can install a set on any car, good luck.
