My 2003 Model Toyota 4Runner VSC and Track off lights have been consistently on. What could be responsible for this fault please?

My thought is, the fault could have something to do with out of tune VSC sensor. Could this be true? I have had the brake linings and pad replaced with the hope that the problem would be fixed but wasn't

When the computer detects certain faults it will set the check engine light on along with the other lights you've explained. I've seen this on many toyota SUV's. Usually the codes set are oxygen sensor related. There really is no relation between the oxygen sensors and the traction control system but for some reason it disables it and sets the warning lights on. Have the computer scanned for codes at a shop or at a parts store such as autozone for free. The code will be interpreted to get the main cause of the problem that led to the lights coming up...

Ligths on vsc and track off

did you read the operators guide yet, it answers that.
all cars made with VSC.
it will say, driving wrong or there is a problem with the system.
if not driving wrong, then take it to the service shop for tests.
read the wiki on VSC, learn what it does.
it can be normal or bad.
not reading the operators manual on this invites, danger to you and others. read it.
the lamp does have messages to you, on , off, flash etc.

My toyota 4runner 2003 model, shows engine check light and vsc track light on . But mostly , my truck vibrates big time each time the brake is applied. Please what do I do? I need help. Thanks,...

This sounds like two problems, the virbrating brakes is due to plusating brakes and this is caused by out of round brake rotors, you will need to have the rotors machined down ture again and this will take care of the vibration when braking. the engine and vsc lights are on because the trucks computer picked up a problem. when everthe check engine light comes on the computer shuts down the vsc because if the engine is not running good then the vsc can not operate correctly and so the computer turns of that system and turns on the light and the engine light is turned on due to a problem. there are so many reasone the engine light could be on for, you will need to have the computer scanned for codes. when the computer detects a problem it stores a code that will tell you which part or sensor is failing or failed. this could be as simple as a loose gas cap or may be a sensor but without scanning its hard to know whats wrong. there are many autopart stores like autozone for example that will scan the codes and give you a print out of the codes. for example there may be a code like po301 cylinder 1 misfire detected, this would mean cylinder 1 is mis firing and then with a little checking you can find out why this is. if you could get the codes and let me know them i would be able to help you further, good luck and have a good day.

When the vsc trac light comes on my 2003 Toyota 4 Runner, what does that mean?

As long as it does'nt stay on it's doing what it's suposed to be doing which is saving you from going out of control. It'll come on more often if you drive like hell, run with low tracktion tires or worn out ones and if the air pressure is low. If your tires have over 80,000 miles on them even if the tread is still good their bad tires as their skating along and the trackstion system is working hard to keep the car under control. If the tires aren't al the same size it'll do it to. ( fronts worn out backs still with tread.) Mis matched tires too. Ifthe light stays on other light's are bound to be coming on too the ABS light the brake light, and even the engine light as their all involved in traction control.

The vsc trac and vsc off, plus the check engine just came up on the dash board. What do I do to make them disappear? Its a toyoto 4runner 2004.

For some reason on Toyota and some Lexus vehicles certain check engine light CEL issues also result in the ECU lighting up the vsc trac and vsc off lights. The ECU actually switches these anti skid and anti lock brake systems off and the lights are to remind you that they are disabled. 1) Check that the fuel cap is on securely 2) Check the oxygen sensors on the exhaust, check that connections are clean and there are no missing wires. 3) Have someone check the on-board diagnostic codes if the CEL is still on
