I think the oil dip stick is in the front the transmission is on the back side of the engine or on the drivers side of the car.

1996 toyota avalon xls vibrating on start and when in drive with brake applied

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

Transmission is slipping. Can't find a dipstick to check the fluid level. Can the transmission fluid be topped up?

Hello! The transmission dipstick is about a foot to the right of the oil dipstick, as you're looking at the front of the engine compartment...Fluid is added through the dipstick tube...

Oil is leaking into the spark plug tube of my 1996 toyota avalon xls

Had the same thing happen to a '94 grand am that i owned. If the car still runs and it's not leaking that much, just leave it. That's what I did. Didn't to any further damage. It'll be expensive to fix. Can't remember how much.

Teenager cannot locate transmission dipstick in 1996 Toyota Avalon

Probably up against the engine firewall on left hand side should say transmission on top of stik with a yellow handle. It's kind of like the oil stick.

How do i add transmission fluid to my 1996 camry?

If you have a dipstick under your hood for the tranny fluid, then fill it in there slowly... if not, you'll need to fill it through the filler plug that will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point
