You have to take a gage and reset it, I believe it is .042 check under your hood or your manual it should say.

Hey man the best thing i can think of is to take a close look at another 97 f150 to see where your wires are going. Or the repair manual should show the wire setup.

I need to replace my #3 ignition coil and plug. How do do this? 2001 ford f150 supercrew


The Ignition coil is right on the plug ( COP - Coil on Plug ), 8mm head bolt holds it down. Remove the COP, and the plug is right under it. Either use a few extension with universals, or Lisle tool makes a spark plug socket specific to the 2 valve 5.4L motor.

How to change spark plugs in 2002 ford f150 with a 5.4ltr


Hello my name is Israel and I will be glad to help you. On this vehicle it is fairly easy. This vehicle has a coil to plug assembly, meaning that each spark plug has its own coil. All you have to do is carefully pull the spark plug wire off the spark plug with a little "tough love". Using a 5/8 socket remove spark plug and replace with new one, connect spark plug wire until you feel it "snap" back onto the spark plug. Repeat with the other 7 spark plugs. Good Luck.

I have a 2001 ford f150 4.6L v8 and i blew a spark plug out of the #3 cylinder what is the best way to fix my problem


if their is no threads left,,then u have to heli coil it,,but some of the savings may go inside the cylinder,,u have to try to get most of them out,,,other wise,,,take motor a part,& do it,,or replace the head,,hoped it helped

YOU HAVE NO SPARK WIRES YOU HAVE COILS ON PLUGS.YOU HAVE TO REMOVE COIL FIRST TO REMOVE SPARK PLUG.I WOULD CHECK SPARK PLUGS AND FUEL INJECTOR S+ SEALS IF YOU SMELL FUEL VAPORS.

I have a 2006 F150 with a 5.4. I have a engine


First remove spark plug. #8 plug is, if sitting in truck, left rear plug. Have someone crank engine while you hold spark plug, connected to plug wire, ground plug to ground. Check spark. If no spark, remove plug wire from coil, connect test light from coil to ground, see if you get spark, if no spark replace coil. Leave cylinder #8 open to air to dry any unburnt fuel in cylinder.

Misfire


check the #3 spark plug. I have one of these "gems", and my trouble started out similarly. I had the vibration and then an exhaust leak. What it was, is the #3 plug blew out of the motor. The threads, in the head, are too weak to hold the plug in. It is a common (and can be expensive) problem to fix.
