Fuses are located in a

fuse block on the instrument

panel on the passenger's

side of the vehicle. Pull off

the cover labeled FUSES
to expose the fuses. The fuse box cover is labled with each fuse and what it does. The cigarette lighter fuse is labled "Cigar Ltr"

If the cover is missing the fuse you need to replace is the 3rd row of fuses from the top below the circuit breakers and it is the 4th fuse in looking left to right, it will be either a 25 or 30 Amp fuse

Open the passenger door. On the right side of the dash panel there is a plastic panel labeled "FUSES". It pop off and your should find your bad fuse there. On the backside of the panel, there is a schematic showing what fuse goes to where. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Where is the cigarette lighter fuse for a 2002

The fuse is located in the instrument panel fuse box. I have a picture of its location below. You have to open the passenger door to be able to see the cover. Below is also a diagram of the fuse layout and the fuse you want is the one marked "CIGAR LTR". It's in the 6th row up and the 6th one over from the left. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. If you don't and would like a copy, email me at csautomotivecars@att.net with your make, model and year. I will be happy to email you a copy & don't worry there is no cost for it. I hope this helps and good luck.

How to repair cigarette lighter in car?

(1) it could be a fuse
(2) the contacts could be dirty use a flashlight and look into the hole, is there rust and corrosion? It can be cleaned but you want to disconnect the power first, the other option is to replace it. Some are located where they are easy to replace, others are not worth the effort.

Cigarette lighter sparked when I tried to plug a charger in that I didn't realize was broken. Do I just need to replace the fuse? Thanks.

Carol, you might need to replace the entire thing. You really need to get it out and check the wires that connect to the back of the lighter. Go ahead and change your fuse but be very careful. A bad fuse wouldn't cause a spark at the lighter. You have bad wires.

My dash light went out on my 1990 buick century.

Find your fuse box, read the cover and find the cigarette lighter and match the drawings with the arrangement of the fuses, when you find it, pull it out and check if blown out or open circuit, then replace it with a the same value of amp. ok

My 2002 Buick Century keeps blowing out the 20a fuse for the door locks. This dosn't happen right away but maybe the second or third time I use the remote switch.

The circut is being overloaded.I beleive the cigarette lighter, the power mirrors and maybe the trunk release is connected to this circut. If there are any problems with any of these items the use of the doorlocks will overload it.GM always had problems with their cigarette lighters shorting. If none of these items are faulty.Have the door lock solenoids checked
