Question about 1996 Ford F150 Regular Cab

I pressed on the clutch peddle and it snapped to the floor. Its a 96 ford f-150, 6 cyl. 5 speed stndrd. Throw-out bearing?

Check your clutch booster fluid be sure to pull the cup out if fluid is low may be bad slave cylinder

SOURCE: clutch stuck

i just changed my clutch fluid and it has been in the teens if not colder my pedal feels very stiff. that is just common when its cold out. on my 96 4.9 300 6.

those trucks had problems with the fire wall breaking .have some one push the clutch pedle and watch the fire wall from under the hood were the clutch master cylinder bolts too if the fire wall moves u need to buy the repaire kit from ford.

the transmission from the flywheel on the back of the engine, im not sure on the f-150 but alot of times its not as hard as it seems, your going to need a good floor jack with a tall reach

89 ford f150 4x4 4.9 5 speed making a terrible noise when clutch pedal is pressed down


It's probably your throw out bearing. you need to remove the transmission to replace it and might as well replace the clutch and slave cylinder while you are at it. $250 to DIY or $500-700 for a shop to do it...

How to replace clutch


are you sure the clutch is bad or is it a hydraulic issue dose the pedal fall to floor after a while stoped or does it slip whil under a load you need to remove tranaxel to replace clutch preasure plate and throw out bearing as well as resurface flywheel check rear main seal andpossibly replace pilot bearing or bushing if it is hydraulic trans axle can stay in and just change slave cyl and or clutch master cyl

I own a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder 5 speed. Yesterday I went to start my truck so I depressed the clutch peddle all the way so I can start the truck and in maybe the last inch of travel I heard a grinding...


No sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i think the fingers on the clutch are worn to excess and when the clutch is depressed fully the bearing is going through the fingers of the clutch causing the noise you can hear .Eventualy it will need a new clutch which is not expensive if you do it yourself
