Check to see if the fuel system saftey switch needs to be re-set. It's a red push button located in the trunk on the drivers side just forward of the brake light under the trunk carpet. If it's popped up the fuel pump circut is cut off. Simply push the button to re-set.

Engine won't turn over 1988 ford mustang 5.0 eng.

A very common problem with the fords of this era was the negative battery cable connection. The cable has a tendency to loosen up where it is attached to either the frame or engine blck. The other battery cable, the positive one (red), runs very close to the exhaust manifold and pipe down near the starter motor and will sometimes make contact, melt the insulation on the wire and short out. I would recommend examining and either tightening connections or replacing the battery cables.

I'm leaning towards your TFI module on the Dizzy. They get hot from engine and are a known issue by ford. I included a picture of what the TFI or ignition module looks like in your Stang. Be sure to tell the store clerk if you have a auto or manual when you purchase one Good Luck Ryan MN
