Question about BMW 325
I think you have the wrong clutch housing installed or the flywheel spacing from the block is wrong. When the switch was made to manual from auto there should have been something fabricated to shim the starter into the correct alignment with the new flywheel's ring gear the same as it used to align with the flexplate.
